68 firebird convertible with power top. This is my first complete restoration and I made some mistakes with some of the other things I purchased so I'm asking here first. I need a complete harness kit for the entire car. There are kits from 21st century, painless, etc. Can you recommend the "best" kit and if possible tell me why....

Give M&H Fabricatons a try. They make VERY good harnesses.

American Autowire (AAW) makes great harnesses... I have been using theirs in my 69 Camaro, replacing one harness at a time as I go through the car.
And I have no complaints; sockets, plugs, and clips are all there in the correct locations.

AAW all the way. you can buy correct plug and play harnesses but that will run you $1000 plus, or you could get AAW Claasic update kit, crimp a few connections, and do it for about $600 to your door. The only issue on the Classic update kit when used with a power top is you need the power top harness and will have to relocate your power top feed power sice the Update kit moves the horn relay under the dash.

Just what does complete mean? Are you swapping in a modern drivetrain? Modern gauges? Convienence options? IMO, there is no one company that offers everything that is needed for all of the above. You can get close, but there is still going to be some integration needed to make it all work and serviceable.
