Thought I'd share some initial photos of the the soon to be released Carbon Fiber inner wheel wells for early second gen TA's.... The inner fenders will fit our Carbon Fenders and we will be test fitting them with my 73 TA steel fenders as well to check fit on stock steel fenders...

The pricing for all our product will be released at SEMA this year and we will continue to test fit and trial beta parts on my cars.... Hope you like the new offerings and we will keep you up to speed on product development as we come along...

Thanks Brent,,, they should be real good for fit but i just want to check them out and run a set for a bit to see how they hold up to real world abuse on my (laughingly referred too) rental cars at a few events LOL....

How much weight do they save from the stock steel?

Albert
Do the inner fender wells provide extra tire clearance for wider tired/ lowered cars? i.e. when the fender lid is rolled and the inner fender well is cut or massaged for extra clearance.

I know you where I am going, but so other know, do they replicate stock or have built-in mods?

Those are sure a sweet looking piece of gear....

They are alike stock inner wells at this point,,, however you know me too well,,,, we will be introducing a flared fender and inner fender combo that will accommodate a 285X18 on a stock sub-frame by the time SEMA rolls around... This is currently being developed along with a Camaro 70-73 fender that will do the same thing.... The market appears to be in modified clearances to handle the wider tires so we are answering the call so to speak...

BTW we did try my 285 x 18's on the my white 73TA with Ride tech A-arms and the tire cleared the stock steel inner fenders without issues and you know my personal cars tend to be pretty darn low in a static environment..... This said we didn't put the car through the paces,, and test it in full compression under road course or auto cross environments so consider the school still out on stock clearances for the moment... I will update on the above very soon as we will be retro-fitting the white 73 WarPath light car with some wide 285 x 18 gummies up front and the new product/s to test with asap.....

If it's early second gen birds,,, 70-73 Camaro or limited 77-81 TA offerings,,,, we'll likely have the part for you within the next year or two as this is the biggest part of my focus/vision for Carbon Kustoms.... There will be some surprises (possible GTO parts) along the way,,, but 2nd gen F-body is where we see the market growth and we plan to answer that with no uncertainty....

Leigh, thanks bud you know they sure would look good on your car,,, who knows maybe you could be my Dealer in Australia pal ;-).....

Tim they were still wet with the UV clear when I shot the pic's,,,, I'll advise on the weight saving in the near future...

subscribing.....Albert please let us know when you get a website up. Personally my interest is in a center console with a custom gauge pod and some cup holders I kind of have a design in mind and have thought about trying it myself, but many other projects need attention first. :D Always need the extra gauge space with these turbo cars. Thanks!

Wow. Very, very nice. I'm still kicking myself for not hanging around at Tipp City last year during Trans Am Nationals. I should have bid on that hood! Maybe some day I'll be able to afford one. Keep it coming, Albert.

OOOOO. I was just thinking about "easy" ways to lighten the front some more on the Formula and I just happened to notice this thread. Looks great and looking forward to the progress on these as well as other products.

A little bird told me there may be a composite subframe in the works? Any truth to this? I am sure that would lighten up the front weight......

Hmmm there's always a string attached. ;-) Not much opportunity left with "lightening" the driver so I'd figure on focusing elsewhere on the car. :smoke:

Do you think it will hold up to rocks that come loose from the tread at speed?.....just wondering if a light coat of rubberized undercoating on the wheelside of the fender liner would help ....that is if rocks give you any problems.

Nice looking product....subscribed to this thread.

Really Albert? I'm kinda torn between the love of technology and your creative design (!) vs moving farther away from cars we love and closer to full on race cars. It just seems like the deepest pockets might be the absolute fastest at so called 200TW street car events. If this is the case, I'll have to build another car that takes advantage of all that trick stuff so I can compete. One at a time, tho...:)

This is not a vent nor a knock just an expression of opinion as I digest your message. Either way, props for thinking outside the box.

Ron that bird isn't necessarily correct,,, and that move would take a great deal of engineering.... I'd be less than honest to say I haven't been approached,,,, but I'm really not sure the market or I are ready for that dramatic a move... There will always be high end cars in any competition,,,, but the social side of the these events is what floats my boat bud...

I agree Albert - there will always be outspenders and the friendships I've made even tho my car is still in build phase are the best, including yourself - the guy walking around passing out egg mcmuffins @ RTTC! That was simply an 'off the cuff' first thought about a tech off shoot which may be a natural evolution when mixing our goals and these events (just wait till honeycomb panels and modular quick change tri axle IMSA style rear ends start making their way into our cars! Hmmm, I gotta start working on my C/F floor ). To some it'll be more bent on the race aspect, others closer to a PT build.

I am thinking by the time you get to the 74 Firebird parts, I will have the money to send you for these awesome parts. Thanks for pushing the hobby for us second gen guys.

If you're taking new Pontiac product suggestions, I think a well integrated functional front spoiler on a 70-73 CF lower front valence to add some down force and that blended well with the non- trans am front fenders would be an interesting offering. Not sure what kind of market there would be though.

I have a '76 T/A I'm dying to put some CF on. Really just for aesthetics, but any weight & performance bragging right gains are always welcome!
