View Full Version : kwik braket
Just installed a vintage air sure fit gen IV sys in my 67 Camaro with a LS1, the bracket that came with the sys was a kwik condenser bracket, I am having trouble lining up the pulleys, I’ve followed the instructions and pulled up on the condenser before I tighten the bolts that mount to the engine but still no help has any body else had this problem.

As far as I know there are three versions of the Kwik bracket: F body, Corvette and truck. Which accessories are you running and which Kwik bracket do you have?

Yes, I would first check to make sure you have the correct bracket. How far is it off? Have you run it yet, or is it that far off? I had alighnment problems with mine. It was fine at low rpms but would run over the end of the compressor pulley at high rpm's. I needed to use 2 washers to shim the compressor. Its very tight, and I had to tap the second one in. Been fine since, even after multiple pulls on the chassis dyno. Take some pics. I'll take some of mine to show you where i needed to put the washers.

I had problems with the ribbed idler pulley. Turns out every chinese made 02 camaro tensioner/pulley is not the same.
How it all started is when I was hearing a funny noise coming from the compressor, it sounded like ball Barings in a tin can with out the compressor on. The noise would come and go so I called vintage air and they said it was something other than the compressor maybe harmonics so I just drove it hoping it would brake. So then it started to wine on my way to my brother-in-law house so he said that my pulleys were not lined up so we started to shim the bracket, we ended putting a washer between the head and the bracket and the water pump. I also had a washer behind the idler pulley that I did not need. That seem to take care of it. If I get time I will get some pics. Thanks for the input.
