Camera Suggestions

I'm in the market for a decent camera. I don't need a professional model. I would just like something, semi portable that shoots very clear images. I've been using the same old Sony Cybershot for too many years, which my wife always has, so I'd like to upgrade and get one of my own. I'm not looking to a top of the line device, just a reasonable quality piece to use for taking pics of cars, projects, etc.

Any suggestions?

I like my P&S Sony H9....for most things it works great....and takes good video

I would like a point and shoot, with great depth of field and image quality... if there is such a thing.

Tony the cameras in that Top 10 list...many have several models out since that list was made. ie...the Canon S3, I have a Canon SX10IS here at work and it is at least 3 or 4 years old now(another good P&S choice)...

I have a Canon Rebel T1i...it's an older model now but I love it. May be more than your looking for but you could probably find them for a great price now that the T2i is out (maybe still a bit expensive for a P&S). It comes with a very decent lens and shoots HD video

I have a Canon point and shoot and love it... 14 megapixel and was only $130.

what model do you have? I don't think I need that many megapixels.. I just want clear image quality.

I think I'm sold on Canon at least..lol.. I would prefer something somewhat compact...

My camera that I've found I use the most is the Canon G11. The G12 is out now but has a plastic body, not metal like the G11 has. A few are still available and I bought mine at Best Buy when they were closing them out. Normally, it sold for almost $500 and I got it for a little over half of that.
