Hi guys (gals too). I just joined up today so no pics yet, but here is the story.
I'm starting a resto/mod project with a pro-touring theme on my 1968 camaro. I bought the car used in November of 1968 with 3000 miles on it...the original owner could not afford the payments (or maybe it was the speeding tickets?). It has the L78 396ci/375hp backed up with an M22 4-speed and 4.56 gears from the factory. The original color is seafrost green, a very light silvery green color, with the black interior.
I drag-raced the car in the mid 1970's in California, turning a best time in the quarter of 12.20 with slicks, headers and a double pumper kit for the holley 3310.
I didn't drive the car that much with the 4.56 gears, and I started to dissassemble it in the late 1980s to put in a rollbar, which is required for anything quicker than 12 flat in the quarter. It had about 36,000 miles on it at the time, but I got busy with other projects, and it's been stored since then.
So that's the basics. I'm new to this site, and I know that I'll find a lot of good guidance from those of you who have been here awhile. I'm looking forward to it!
