"new-touring" being one of my 4th gen Camaros :icon_razz

I had a local paint shop spray some custom stripes last week, he did an awesome job. Its a nice retro theme to match the factory hugger orange paint (only available in 1999). The car is 1 of 375 built.

So, the car is now DONE appearance-wise. Here is what I have done so far on the externals:

custom painted SLP SS grille
painted door mirrors (were black before)
custom painted hood and trunk stripes
gloss black rear panel to match stripes
97 SS Camaro emblems on front & rear (sides coming soon)
painted headlight mod
window tint
ls1tech decal :D
Hotchkis lowering springs
import-spec tail lights
center mount exhaust system
Boyd 18" wheels/tires

I must say Tony; you have great taste when it comes to rides. Your picture-taking ability is pretty darn good, too!

What's up with the mirrors? In your toy box pictures, it had orange mirrors. In the before picture here they are black. Now orange again?
I think they look better painted the color of the car myself, the black just made them stick out. I like the stripe, kinda makes the stinger hood match a 67vette.

Looks great Tony, love the stripe.
Bill, a painted mirror was used on special models like Z28 and SS. Black was standard.IIRC

Very nice. Very tasteful. One of the best looking gen-4's I've ever seen.

98-99 V8 cars all came with black mirrors. In '00 they started coming with body color mirrors. I had my black ones painted orange, the black ones broke up that nice body line leading up to them.

I agree with Bill on the Vette stripe, looks cool,

I think the center exhaust on these cars is awsome, It look really cool on a 1st gen, I was thinking on doing this to my car but I want to keep the gas tank where it is,

Nice, Steve

Tony,

Excellent job. I understand all go and no show guys. However, simple changes with a little thought process and time and look what you can do to upgrade the look of your own car. Is there additional cost? Yes maybe some, but what a difference it makes. I'm sure you will be giving other 4th Gen some good ideas.

Looks great, Tony!! I love that stripe on there! I just did the painted headlight mod myself this weekend. It's definitely the best bang-for-the-buck appearance mod there is.

Painted Headlight?? What is that exactly?

The mod entails bakeing the headlights in the oven for about 20 minutes at 200*, and then removing the lens from the backing. The backing (except for the chrome reflectors) is then sprayed the color of your choice, and the headlights are resealed. It's basically done to tone down the amount of "chrome" in the headlights, and make them look a bit smaller.
