I have a Richmond 5 speed and wanted to install the hurst competition shifter somewhat close to it's original position in the tunnel. Googled an old write up where David had manufactured a plate and adapter to reposition his so I used the write up and machined a plate out of aluminum but when it came to the adapter I wasn't quite clear on how to go about it so I pm'd David with a few questions. To make a short story a little shorter, David was no longer using his, went out and located it in his garage and sent it to me free of charge along w/a few helpful hints. Can't say it enough but thanks again David. Great forum community.

New plate on left, hurst plate on right. Now mounts 1 1/2" down and 1" forward.

Welded on the adaper 1" forward and 2" to the center. Attached in a way that if I wanted to remove it and return part to original intent I could.

Hole to be cut in new tunnel.

Fine tuning as to not cut hole larger than it needs to be.

Installed and works perfect, now I need to figure out how to set stops and their reason for existence.
