I went on both summit and jegs looking for the correct adapters and they both show the 3/8 adapter to be correct for the pressure side but neither show which is for return side. Is it supposed to be the 5/16 one that shows to be for a 94/95 model? Needing to get these ordered this morning so I can finish my install. Thanks, T.

Maybe they can sticky the info for others, the Russell adapter part numbers are 640860 and 640850.

Good luck with them. I've had nothing but problems with Russell plumbing. I'm done with them.

I used these on a prior fuel setup part #5800- http://www.purechoicemotorsports.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=181/category_id=132/home_id=97/mode=prod/prd181.htm They worked really well.

I have also used the fittings from Pure Choice and have zero complaints.

probably be cheaper and easier to use the factory style nylon lines and connectors. get every part number you might need to integrate it into whatever fuel system you currently have at www.dormanproducts.com and order the stuff from you favorite locally owned and operated parts store.

I've bought from Pure Choice and have had good experiences with them. Factory style as mentioned above are also good options. I would just stay totally clear of Russell. I've just finished dealing with a nightmare totally due to Russell poor quality (bores not centered on -AN, 37deg seat not really 37deg, threads not aligned with bores....) and have learned a valuable lesson to stick with Earls, Aeropquip, Fragola, Red Horse or similar. Somebody who many of us use his products and consider them to be the best in that area said something 3 days ago to me that was very accurate. He said "Maybe if Vic (Edelbrock) would stop drinking long enough to see what has happened to that business he'd take the time to fix it."

How appropriate.

My Pure Choice fittings worked well also.

Back from the dead. Anyone know the price on the pure choice fittings? They don't list it on their site.

Russell has a new connector that is properly designed. 644120 for the 3/8". They have other sizes available as well.

This is the new design Russell, with threaded lock ring. compared to the push on old design.

I have russell part # 644123 and that doesnt fit the Gen 5 pump, Will that fitting fit?

I was told that what i have will/should fit, but its to small.

Yeah, these couldn't have come out soon enough for me - after one of my older style connectors popped off and sprayed gas all over the engine while I was driving.

644123 should fit, but in some cases the "U" nut interferes with a small protrusion on the underside of the fuel outlet. Try installing the "U" nut from the top and spinning the body. Use some oil to lubricate the o-ring.

I have a few questions on this topic, if anyone would be so kind....

1. Has anyone used the Fragola 491989BL for this application? I don't know why I have a thing for Fragola, I just do...
2. In the photos attached by Oliver above, I am thinking that the "U" shaped part is the locking nut? It looks like the end of the fitting that faces the hard line has female threads, and I assume that the locking nut has male, and that combining them together locks the fitting in place?
3. I believe that you need a specialty tool to activate the quick release and actually remove the fitting from the hard line? Any recommendations on where to get that?
4. Would this be the same fitting used to connect to a stock GM FI Fuel Rail up at the engine?

Thank you very much!

1: I looked that PN up in the Frafola catalog, pg 28 I can dot tell from the photo.
2: You are correct The U shaped part is the locking nut. On first installation put a drop of oil in the barrel to lube the "O" ring
inside to make installation easier.

3: There is no special tool to release the lock, that I know of, Pinch the tabs together and pill the barrel off.
If this is the first removal, after the fitting has been installed for some time. Squirt some WD 40 inside the barrel to clean out any accumulated dirt.
4: I think they are the same.

There are standard tools available for removing the fish-hook type connectors at every auto parts store. However, be very careful when using the steel-type versions on modern cars. Many of the modern applications, like the Gen5 and CTS-V fuel modules, do not have sufficient room to use the tool. If the steel fitting is put on you'll have a heck of a time getting it off again.

Thanks, Carl, I figured that you might jump in on this one.

Do you have any experience with the Fragola gear?

I purchased some nylon tools from Lisle (p/n 37000)--should I expect the experience to be the same as you've mentioned above for the steel tool, or is it just the material with the steel ones that causes the issues? Thanks!
