Vinyl wrap on wheel lips?

Anyone ever used this for temporary or mock up to see how color change etc.. would look?

Thinking of doing some vinyl work on Camaro changing up the stripes in satin black. Kinda thought the polished lips on my wheels might look cool in a satin black as well. Just not sure if it would even hold up?

Not for permanent use... I'm thinking about a new paint design due to a little damage, and vinyl seems like a cheap see if I like it before I spray type option.

I had a customer who had the lips wrapped on his BMW wheels. The vinyl would hold up until the next time the tires were changes.

Thanks for the reply. I figured tire changing would be an obvious problem with it. Just wasn't sure if anyone else had used this or heard. Mainly concerned with braking heat. I'm not racing it, but I do like to run the canyons near my home, and wondered if it was gonna bubble off on the first trip.

Thanks for the heads up! I got a shop in Denver that is pretty good with wraps.

I'm kinda glad to see that there hasn't been any negative feedback on playing with the vinyl wrap stuff.

I was wondering too if that would work. I put this cheap pin striping tape on my wheels years ago and it still looks good, its help up through thousands of miles and washes. But the whole wheel? You would have to use a heat gun and stretch it to keep it from wrinkling but I think it would work.

For $120 in vinyl I think I should be trying this for my self! If it doesn't work it doesn't work.

It's not as easy as it may look. But is sure worth a try to get a feel. There are many places that do wraps and offer wheel wrapping as well,if anyone close to Jacksonville,I can point you in the right direction

I didn't mean to imply that I thought it would be easy. Its just cheap enough that I could screw up a couple times and still be cheaper than my shop that was gonna do it!

I want to wrap my whole wheel in black (now chrome). Has anyone found a place to get the wrap? I know you can get samples from 3M from what I'm told.
