only makes 300 ish horsepower, kinda lame for a V12 :/

If it made much more than that in stock form it would probably tear itself apart.

"Since I happend to have a 5.3 litre Jag V12 and 1967 MGB-GT sitting around,"
I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time. Any time I've heard of an engine swap involving a Jag V12, it's the V12 that is getting yanked.

Pretty cool build. I think he could have put a little more time into the wheel well cuts.

That's nice project, I would like to see it when it's done. I have a V12 swap planned as well, but fair fair in the future I hope to learn from your project. How did the fuel system work out; did you use an EFI system? An MG GT with the V12 will way how much? Not much I would think.

Great effort on this car but there are a few things that I was a little uneasy about. Albeit it's a full on race car but I do have to agree on the engine choice. So many other lighter engines available that would blow that things doors off.

Played around with a friend's V12 some years ago...talk about a boat anchor....damn heavy engine, small capacity...annoying alloy heads grow onto the head studs so you have to fight just to get the heads off.
Surely he could have sold the thing for enough money to use as a down payment on a decent engine?
Sort of remind me of a Triumph/British Leyland 2.6 litre 6 cylinder, over weight and underpowered....pretty low points, even for english designs.

During the late '70s I accompanied a friend when he went to a machine shop to pick up some cylinder heads.
There were two Jag V12s sitting in a corner of the shop. I made a comment about them and the shop owner rolled his eyes back. He points to them and commences to tell me "That one was rebuilt twice before we yanked it out and replaced it with a 350 (SBC), we managed to talk the owner of the other one into replacing it with a 350 instead of rebuilding it, and we have another one coming in next week for a 350". Apparently all three had connecting rod "problems".
I've had a pretty dim view of them since, but when compared with today's LS engines the Jag V12 seems even more irrelevant.

A few years back I was at Pleasanton Goodguys and saw a Corvair with a Jag V12 up front. A super nice job & you couldn't tell anything had been done once the hood was shut.

The Jag V12 would be one of the last engines I would consider swapping in, but I think he used it more out of sentimental reasons than actual performance.

Camaro8rs, just so you know...it's not my project. I just thought the build was cool. Hopefully the guy will run the V12 until it breaks and then put an LS engine in it.

Regardless of the questionable choice of the Jag V12 pretty neat build with the tires all hanging out but he gayed it up at the last minute with that paint job....sheesh
