Hi guys -
I believe I am having what I believe is a vapor lock problem with my 68 Charger. Car is powered by a 440 .030 over, mild cam, 850dp. When I run the car for then say an hour and 15 minutes straight I am getting what I think is vapor lock. I have a 1 inch spacer under the carb, I've move all fuel lines away from any substancial heat source. I know the carb. (850dp) is probably too big, but that should not cause' this. I was looking in my friendly Summit catalog and I noticed they sell a Fuel Cooler which is made by Flex-a-lite. The description is as follows:
"Features copper tubing, aluminum fins, and machined billet -6 AN fittings. Designed to work with high output fuel pumps. Drops temps by up to 80degrees F."
I am currently running a high volume mechanical fuel pump so I should have no trouble - the cost is only $40. Does anyone think this will make a difference?!?
Opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers - MrAngry
