I am looking at making the 4 bar a little shorter is there any downfalls to this? I want to package them so they are right at the intersection of the frame rails.

The rear suspension setup you have rite now is designed for drag racing not corner stuff. Those bars look parallel to each other in which case, no there will not be much different. That being said, I see that you already have a mount on top of the diff. I suggest that you either change to a 3 link and move your coilovers outside the frame rails (or atleast farther out than they are now) or build in a front mount for a 3 link then just be able to switch between a 3 link for pro touring stuff and a 4 link for pro street stuff

It will increase your antisquat some if you simply move the mounts back and not down at all. If you install a 3rd link, be sure to shorten that too, I believe it should be roughly 2/3 of the length of your lowers.

Thanks guys,
The whole reason I am looking into this is I want a good cornering set up an want to maintain my back seat. If I shorten the lower bars up and the top 3 link I think I could swing the backseat idea. Any other ideas?

What if you just shortened the uppers? Does that help with your packaging? Then you get an antisquat curve of some sort and it becomes more aggressive as the rear squats and then you get the opposite as the rear unloads.....I think. Oh, and lower arms level or slightly up at the front.

It would help if you could get those lower bars out with the lower coilover mounts like steve said.

But I am guessing you don't want to reinvent the wheel (it looks like you have done that a couple of times already) so yes you can shorten those bars and it will be fine and then next winter you can cut it all apart again, that's what I do :-)

I think you are on the right track I will shorten the top bars and everything should fit.
I will also angle the shocks inward which will lower my ride height and give me more room for my exhaust. I am still working on the added top bar for my 3 link conversion.

Thanks

Most drag race 4-links have a shorter upper bar. I think that is a good idea. I might even raise the UCA above the axle housing to get more separation and even less pinion change during suspension travel.

Bryce,
Is there a program I could get to help me figure out everything before I reinstall the suspensions for the 3rd time? It was fun at first not so much now.
