Between you and the FM3 car, who's out front? A little friendly rivalry can be a lot of fun.

The FM3 car is way out front. Not only are Jimi and Steve great drivers, the Z06 is a hardcore piece. It also has a couple of driver's aids that definitely give it an advantage under certain circumstances.

The friendly competition part is between Mary and I. We have decided to both run each track and see how we do. The obvious goals notwithstanding this would be a really hard week if we couldn't have some fun too.

I was about to make my morning run (engine running, suited up, ready to go) when a 911 GT blew up coating the track with coolant. Fortunately they decided to clean the track and give us an early lunch rather than sending us out. Dodged a bullet there.

Attrition is really kicking in now. Besides the 78 Camaro that dipdnt make the start a couple of cars blew up yesterday, an Evo burnt up this morning' and now the Porsche. The pits are full of the sounds of impact guns and cuss words. The Lister I mentioned earlier is on the trailer, doesn't look like it is going to make a lap.

We're holding up well so far and amazingly should reach the half way point tonight (or tomorrow am) when we reach Daytona.

I guess I should have paid more attention and I could have come down to watch you run. I am only about 45 minutes away. Good luck!

Daytona...I want to be there for that race! Good luck guys! It was just amazing to witness the race first hand and get a feel for the event. These guys are no joke!

If I had known you guys were going to be so close, I would have ridden out to watch. I'm glad to hear you're still in the running, though!!

All that preparation is paying off. The amount of work needed on a car is directly proportional to preparation and how far each system is pushed. Good preparation as well as staying sane on the build makes a world of difference, and allows you two to have some fun as well.

Good luck at Daytona. Wish I could be there, but that's a conversation for another day.

Mary kicked some serious a this afternoon - finishing 20th overall at CMP and beating the FM3 boys by 3 spots! We're waiting for rotors then it's off to BMW and a lousy drive south.
