I am going through this process right now and am wondering if there is a throttle bracket available to achieve the correct geometry needed for the cable. I know one is out there for the holley and edlebrock, but am unsure it will fit my QFT carb. I have set it up best I could and the trans performs pretty good under part throttle conditions. No late or early shifts, and the shifts themselves feel pretty good in every gear. The one issue I have is WOT. It shifts way too early. If I take it to manual 1, 2, 3...OD it will hold every gear until I shift out.

Wondering if I still have a geometry issue!?!?!?

Bowler Performance Transmissions is currently working to develop a kit to work with the Quick Fuel Carb, but until then you can use the Bowler Tru-Shift for Holley Carb. The back bracket that comes with the Holley kit will need some slight modifications to work with your Quick Fuel Carb.

I had the same issue with my Speed Demon. I used these drawings to fab my own......I did not cut or modify the carb linkage I made one that is a lot like the holley one....

It was real easy, I took a piece of steel (or aluminum) and marked it out for all the holes. The top and bottom holes for mounting to the throttle linkage and marked out for where according to the specs in the link the cable should hook to. It looks a lot like this one from Holley

but for my application the TV attachment is a lot closer to the lower mounting hole. If the mounting tab is real close to the lower hole like on mine I recommend either countersinking a machine screw or welding/tapping in a stud as my allen head bolt needed to be filed down to clear the TV cable tab.

I would recommend either using steel for it and either welding the TV cable tab from the back side or either steel or alum and drill and tap the hole so you can just screw it in. I had to space the bracket out a little from the throttle linkage to clear the throttle shaft nut too.

I am going to refine mine now that I know of all the quirks I had to encounter......
