Hi everyone, I am new to the site, I have an 87 Buick Grand National with stock suspension, I want to upgrade it and lower the car. I just want a nice ride and sometimes go to the drag strip, and around corners. Nothing to extreme, don't have a big wallet. Thanks for the help.

While a bigger wallet helps... it doesnt mean that you cannot educate yourself to make the best decisions with the money you do have. You may as well spend it right...

The link given by chicane is arguably the best place to get started when you're working with this chassis, and I'd have posted it if he hadn't already done so.
I can tell you that you won't regret stepping up to the Bilstein shocks, particularly if you stiffen the springs and bars. There may be some advantage in selecting the 2WD S10 front part number if the front springs you choose are 600 lb/in or higher.
The suspension on this car . . .

. . . is not heavily modified - Bilsteins, stiffer springs, better endlinks, and a fairly aggressive alignment being most of the story. Only 15 x 8.5" wheels and 225/60 tires. That car was not lowered, and it was daily-driveable anywhere. You shouldn't have to go too deep into Mark's catalog to match or improve on that, and there's a lot of room for improvement if you're willing to look at 17" or possibly 18" rolling stock.

The Stage II Plus kit from Savitske is a huge improvement for the front end of these cars, as a Bilstein shocks, like Norm said. Get a good set of springs combined with these two items and you'll be headed in the right direction. If you still feel you're lacking performance, you can add a FAYS2 Watts Link kit to fix up the rear a bit. I'm working on a bolt-in torque arm conversion kit for these cars but that's a ways down the road.
