So I had originally done a single shear mount on my rear lower coil-over mount but decided to beef it up.. Here is the original mount.

So after changing my mind on that mount I cut it off and ordered a new mount from Speedway and tacked it on. Using a piece of rectangle stock to step it off the mount. I'm not worried about the strength of it now as the tube is .134 wall and fully welded would be plenty strong. I just don't know if you guys have any better ideas that would maybe even look better. Below is where I'm currently at now. Also my lower spring cup is hitting the tube and the new mount so I definitely need to do something a little different..

ETA: Looking at your picture again, I'm not sure if these would work, they may be too wide to work with the bracket you're welding to. Though maybe they would fit around it for a nice overlap fit? That'd be pretty strong.

Could you rework one of these to fit? I think if you got the 4" ones you'd have plenty of mat'l to work with, so you could cut off the notched end and maybe angle them down to get the shock eye in the right place while curing your issue with the lower spring cup.

I've come up with what I think will be a great solution. Hoping to have an update next week when the parts arrive.

Did you order what I suggested in your build thread? For everyone else, take a look at these

I don't see those working too well on Pro-Touring cars, the lower shock mount would be way too high with it that close to the axle tube. Unless I'm seeing it wrong, but I don't think I am. The ones that Darren just posted would work much better because of the drop they have built into them.

Rite, I suggested them to him because he already has the lower link mount done. Now it just needs a way to hold the shock and those could weld rite to it with a little modification

Phillip, you can do something like this. out of 3/16" flat since you are going to weld it anyways. Just use the appropriate misalignment spacers.

Phillip,

Mr Quick's looks good. I would probably do something like that. But you may want to try to get mulitple mounting points on the same bracket. This way if you need to change ride height you can still stay in teh sweet spot of the shock.

I am surprised the 1/2" bolt was bent. It does have a large moment on it, since its spaced of the bracket. Did you ever load the bolt without the gusset. Also a tacked on gusset may not be as stiff as you think.
