Thought I would Take some time to post my build and a few pics. I have owened this car since 96 and over the years just messed around with it from time to time. The last few years I have really sunk loads of cash in her and was on my way to finishing it up. I found out a few months back that Im going to be a new dad! So the wife wants me to do what I need to do to finish it up before Oct...... With a New baby on the way and saving to build our first house im trying to put just the right amount of money in the car with out getting mama to mad :D Here are a few pics of the car and Ill post more as soon as I get them. The car has a 396 bb, was wanting to build a 502 but with the new news of a little one looks like ill keep the 396 for a few years. I did manage to get a new Magnum 6 speed ordered. Now its time to take the car apart and do a few last things before paint.

where did you get the gas cap and the rear lights are solid red so where are the reverse lights?

The gas cap is from ride tech. I put a new rear body pan in and didn't want to cut the reverse lights out for a smoother look.

Nice car, and great year!

Are the wing windows just out, or are you getting rid of them altogether?

What size tires/wheels?

I'd love to see some more photos. Engine bay, interior, dash, etc.

I sent out the Wing windows to get rechromed and should have them back any day. Wheels are 18x12 and 18x8. I am running 315 on the rear but going to move up to 335 when they are smoked. Ill get some more pics of the dash and engine tomorrow. And I guess im just not going to run back up lights. I have them just dont feel like cutting out the holes for them. Thanks for all the great feedback!

Update: Installed Magnum T56 this weekend. Havent had a chance to take her for a test drive due to the rain ALL weekend! oh well cant rain all the time.....

Sadly no its not mine, its my best bud's shop at his house BUT I can use it anytime I need it..... So thats not to bad :o)

I know that isn't the final color and it is just primer, but a flat black straight car with wide tires and the right stance is a wonderful thing. Any hints on the color?

I have been going back and forth with the color.... I have a med blue picked out, but after seeing it in primer black, i love the way it looks just mean looking. most likely it will be blue but nothing is final for sure.

What a week! My new baby wanted to come visit us 4 days early and I finaly got the camaro painted! Now that the baby is here not sure how much ill get done, but maybe ill get out and get things together when she is sleeping..... Even thought I couldnt wait to get the car painted.... she is going to get all my free time!

Thanks, the suspension is going to be nothing great. I would love to run a DSE 4 link or a Ride Tech but I have spent WAY to much and my budget is almost gone untill the wife gets a new house..... So ill be using Leaf springs untill then. But Ill put up pics :)

Unreal, you have done so much of what I'm planning on doing to mine. The RS treatment is on my list as well and the gauges in your dash are exactly what I'm looking at doing. Very nice job on the car.

Thanks its getting close to beeing as done as they ever are. Its funny cuz I seen your build the other day for the first time, really like your car and looking for some updates. I did get my RideTech 4 link in the other day so looks like its on the todo list! hehe

Wow where dose time Go! almost two years and its 99% done, just waiting on a few things to come in the mail. Took her out for a drive for its maiden voyage since paint and some upgrades. even though I didnt build this car for car shows I figured that untill I can get a few more upgrades to make this bbc handle turns better I would just do a few for the fun of it, so I went to a local show this past sunday and I won the top award! Everyone seemed to love the car and lot of positive feedback was given! There was over 150 cars and I had a huge smile when they called my name.

Took the car out of town for the first time ever this past weekend. It was only 30 mile but it has never went that far since its been together. Ran great! a few times I looked down and I was going 80.... I have major plans for this car this winter, Speedtech sub, Ridetech 4 link and a 496 BB so now that I have most the bugs worked out ill have to start all over :screwy:

Very clean and fun ride you have, always good to see projects grow with improvements and upgrades along the way, what gear you running? Probably decent since you have the OD T56 I have a few buddies and we all working on cars from a 70 Nova, 71 Camaro, 67 Camaro, 69 Firebird, looking forward to the days when they are all on the road. Enjoy those mods your adding should transform the handling, great build!
