Wow... summers coming up and things are finally far enough along that I think I can afford to get the Malibu back on the road this summer (hope to). I was off today and decided to pop on Ebay and see what kind of prices they had on used Holley's. I haven't looked for one in years on ebay or otherwise... I cannot believe the price hop. Used holley's from mid 60s corvettes starting bids at $450-$700. I can remember going on ebay and finding used carbs for $10-$25 a dime a dozen, you just had to be a carb guy to know what you were getting.

Is it officially time to declare Ebay just about done as far as used deals?

I can't help but think the internet has made it a lot easier for people to get an idea of just what they think their item is worth and everyone wants exactly that! The days of just cleaning out your garage and wanting to get rid of the stuff seem to be over.

That's what Craigslist is for. I often throw stuff up on CL for cheap, just to get rid of it. I agree, there are very few 'deals' on eBay anymore.

Craigslist is where the great deals are at. This has been my experience..

Unfortunately, I've noticed Craigslist is going down hill. It's almost a 50/50 scam ratio. But yeah, eBay is pretty much dead deal wise. You might get lucky and snipe an auction with no reserve, though.

Craigslist is ok, but you're at the mercy of whatever's available relatively locally and you're without the tools Ebay has available, like pictures, communication proceedures and paypal.

Its a shame craiglook folded under pressure.. that was the best resource for finding parts via searching an X mile radius from your zip code.

Ebay is good for buying and selling rare parts for top dollar. Its still a good resource.

Yeah, but Craiglook was SO much nicer. I'm glad I went to buy my car when I did, Craiglook closed shortly after and it would have been a royal pain to find anything with regular Craigs.

^ I agree, searchtempest is a memory hog and takes forever to search!
