I have decided to tear apart my 67 Camaro which I've owned for 10 years, and make it handle and perform!
Previous State:
1967 Camaro SS, 350 SMC, M21, 10 Bolt.
Current State:
Chassis:
Speedtech track time package.
Ride Tech Coil overs (500# fronts, 250# rears)
ATS spindles, power rack, speedtech alum body mounts.
Torque arm rear, with ridetech coils.
Engine:
L92 which will soon receive an LS3 intake.
Still need to relocate the AC compressor
Planning to do a lumpy cam
Tranny:
6L90e 2WD tranny with splined tail shaft.
need to find a shallower pan, or modify a 6L80e G8 pan (for an extra .8" of clearance)
Still need to have a drive shaft made.
looking for a shifter, and plan to use paddles from Twistmachine.
Will do a torque converter with cam.
Rear end:
Had a 9" fab'd housing from Quick Performance Products in Iowa.
Moser 31 splines, detroit truetrac, alum 3rd member.
Great work, and cost effective--Brayden Sells on ebay.
Brakes:
C5 Zo6 Brakes in the making from kore3.
325mm fronts, 305 or 330 rears--not sure yet.
Electrical:
Getting harness from PCI Conversion.
Exhaust:
Evaluating whether I should use the stock manifolds, or buy Stainlessworks Headers from Speedtech.
Looking for a smooth/clean sounding 3" muffler (not too loud--any suggestions?).
Gas tank:
Rick's SS Tank.
Gauges:
Undecided---I like Dakota digital.
Currently my Front clip and hood are in my front porch (I needed room!), and I am in the middle of putting the rear suspension in. Everything has been going rather well, and I was able to fit the 6L90e in with out cutting the tunnel apart (Thanks to Champ Pans and the speedtech sub frame).
Hope to have it running mid summer! Thanks for looking!

Looking great Bobby! You've made big progress since I came to see the car a few weeks ago--glad to hear that the tranny fit without having to cut up the tunnel!

Sure fooled me! May still have to do minor changes, but not bad. Now on to brakes, elec, driveshaft, intake, etc.....

Looks like some very nice upgrades to what was already a very solid platform.

Thanks, I appreciate it.
It has been nice working on a car originally from Cali! Unlike every other project I have done, I have not had to torch off one bolt!

Yes, completion prior to the Car Craft Summer Nats is my Goal (if not, sooner). I may have a trip out to Dynotuneusa in Watertown, SD for some tuning with Andy.....hopefully not the weekend before CC!

Looking great! Will the Twistmachine shifter work with a stock computer or what will you be running for a trans controller?

Matt,
The Twist Machine Paddles will work with the stock 6L90e TCM (it's actually in the tranny housing). I do not need their Shift controller. I just have to integrate it into my harness (3 wires I believe).

Man, that makes for a pretty attractive setup then, can't wait to see this thing done!!

You're right about that. It kept me from going with a T56! The 6L90e came with my L92. Apparently they are difficult to come by (only the 2WD trucks had a 6L90e with a splined tail shaft). I'll look for you at CC!

And I thought I was the only 67 owner with a set of those centerline rims!!! Good luck with the rebuild.

Nice, I still like them (I've had them for awhile). Unfortunately, they no longer make them in 2 pcs; therefore you can't buy them in anything less then a 20" rim. I am trying to buy a pair of 18" for the front (I currently have 17"s in the front, and 18" in the rear). I could use some extra brake clearance....wanna sell yours?

Yeah I like mine too. They stand out from the norm on these cars. I have a set of 18's in the front and 20's in the rear. Looks great, with a great stance. Why not move your rear 18's up front and buy a new set of 20's for the rear. I have a bent 18 that i searched everywhere to replace but you just cant find them. I found a guy here in NY that will repair it for me. Good luck.

I sure would if I could! My rears are 18 x 10" with 4.75" BS.....so they would never fit.
I suppose I will keep looking.
Thanks,

Took awhile, but I have been busy working in the garage. 90% of the car was completed in October/November. I was able to put a few hundred miles on before winter arrived!
The brakes for Tobin @ Kore 3 were perfect. Well packaged, thorough BOM, and great help on the phone!

New pan from car kraft:

New 9" from Quick Performance in Iowa! Great value, quality, and service (thanks Brydon)
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/02/IMG_1574-1.jpg
I did have to re-machine the pinion support--not all flanges have the same pattern (speedtech assumed a strange 3rd member, I had a Yukon gear)
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/02/IMG_1578-1.jpg
I made custom Motor mount plates out of 1/2" alum plate:

Installed a SS tank by Rick's:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/02/IMG_16461-1.jpg
Pulled the TCM, and had the shift points quickened by Jim Miller at Zero Gravity Perf in Phx, AZ (Jim was a calibration engr @ GM for 25 yrs).

I then went to Texas Speed and Perf:
I ordered a DOD and VVT delete kit with the largest cam I could fit without cutting the pistons:

I was told the motor had 1700 miles on it......seems like a lot of carbon for 1700 miles! (maybe 17k or 27K?)

4th Gen Booster, right hand drive S10 Master cylinder (from Tobin). and the brake system was good to go!

Protorque Converter--10" with a 2800 stall (through Twistmachine---should be fun with the Paddles:

With the help of 4 friends, the front Clip was back on!:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/02/IMG_1706-1.jpg
Little too low for tire clearance! (had to get longer front springs from Roger @ speedtech--needed 10" instead of 8"--I also went to the 450# springs)

Off to get exhaust:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/02/IMG_1725-1.jpg
Magnaflow 3" SS system did not fit, so I had Taylor Star Automotive do a custom 2.5" system. They did a wonderful job!

After tuning we found that the 90 degree ellbow I purchased from Steet and Perf could not be used, so I had a custom one built.
Thanks to Gino, Andy Wicks (Dynotuneusa), Jesse, Justin, and 15 gallons of gas, we were able to get the car running great!

Looks great. That is quite the list of upgrades you just installed in the car. I bet you can't wait for spring. I bought a set of the 69 vintage guages I really like how they look.
