70 Camaro replacement spindle

I have a 1970 camaro. The passenger spindle got ruined by a bad bearing and I need a new spindle. I want to do one of two things. reason being is I have a Kore3 brake kit that was originally designed for AFX spindles. Well I need to buy the proper brackets and hubs to mount them to my stock spindles. I am looking for options on spindles that might make the swap easier or somewhere I can get new stock spindles and hubs/brackets for the corvette brakes all at once. I know I could buy the AFX spindles but I am looking for cheaper options. Any help would be apreciated. I am replacing all the balljoints bushings tie rods etc, so a place that has all that too would be a bonus. I already have hotchkis springs and shocks. At the very least please point me in the direction for a stock replacement spindle. Thanks

I didn't think AFX makes a spindle for second gens. I know that the second gen camaro spindle isn't re-produced. You're stuck finding a good used one.

There are plenty of cars you can get the spindle from. 70-77 F-bodies are the same, 78-81 will work but have a different outer bearing (uses A3 & A6 bearings). 78-96 B-body (think Caprice size) will work, just look for the ones with 11" brakes instead of the 12". They also use the different outer bearing. 73-77 A-bodies work as well.

You might want to give Speed Tech a call. I remember they have a solution. G body unit I think? Could be wrong.

I had a rear axle that got scuffed pretty bad from a bad bearing once. We took it to a machine shop where they plasma sprayed it and re-finished it. Just a thought....you may want to check what a local machine shop can do for you.

I got a set of mid-90's Caprice spindles, can't remember what brake size but I had the machine shop at work make the dust shield bolt holes larger, cut off the brake caliper mounts (template came from Kore3 I believe), and installed the big brake mount from Kore3. Then installed a set of Wilwood 6-piston's from Prodigy. I also went with the hubs from Kore3. Everything fit perfectly!

actually if you look at the front page of the web site you will fide a new Second Gen sub frame kit available that uses the AFX spindle, you MUST use the hi clearance upper control arm and steering arm at the very minimum to make it work.

So can you buy it separately? They aren't on the website and I have never seen them on any car or trade show?

it is a new kit for us, the issue in the past(why you could not use the AFX spindle on a Second gen) has always been the upper control arm length and the sterring arm that has now been figured out. Tbart70 (Member here)has one of the first kits. we currently only have the complete package on the site as it really is a Complete package with the steering all revised, and fixed. the bump steer is virtuly eliminated. improved camber gain. it comes with a custom length pitman arm and idler arm relocation bracket all to make it work properly.

At last check there were still about 100 sets available. Otherwise, I have gotten used spindles in reasonably good condition in the past for anywhere between $10 and $25 each at local wrecking yards.
