Please, help me spend $5,000.00

Hi I am looking for advice on how to spend the rest of my $ from the sale of my Z06. I know $5,000 is not a lot of $ but I need help spending it.

This is for my basically rust free 67 Camaro (non #s matching standard car) it currently has a 327 4 spd

It does not need any sheetmetal replaced. The interior has been replaced.

I have already done,

4 wheel Willwood setup (manual) thanks Laramie at precision brakes
Hotckis TVS full suspension setup front and rear with Bilsteins
Power steering conversion
Hei conversion
Posi unit with 3:73s
Full front end rebuild
New headers and Flowmaster exhaust

How should I spend the rest of the $? I would like to hop up the engine but not with all of the $.

I already have a 355 shortblock-rotating assembly with a 4 bolt main.

And please include costs of everything.

I like the paint job idea as well. If you've already got a decent engine, the suspension has been reworked, the body is solid and no need for interior...now is the time to make it beautiful.

Use a grand or so for a good stereo, 2 grand for new heads and cam, and the rest for gas and rear tires. :icon996:

I bought a 355 4 bolt shortblock from a friend for $600.00
Tranny is a 4 spd for now and for naw it will have to stay.

Holy cow! Nice car, and you still have $5k to spend? I like the ideas of new wheels and tires. You'd be surprised at how that will totally change the attitude of your ride! Be sure to post some pics of what you decide to do.

And I have already received the tires. I went with the recommendations found here.
17x8-5" bs 17X9.5 5.5"bs 245-40-17 and 275-40-17 they are gonna be tight I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Nice car, Ed. Good choice with wheels and tires. So how much of your money do we have left to spend? One of the best purchases you can make are seats.

If the car's already a decent runner, then I'd go for the stuff thats gunna make it better. Poly bushings all around, HAL shocks, Cal-Traks etc,etc, for the suspension. The free stuff or close to it comes next, battery relocation, compartment detailing, electric cooling fans free up good HP gains. When the time comes for a powertrain transplant you'll know the rest is in order to handle it. Small victories like that keep the troops moral up to win the war ....

I think the wheels and tires was a good move. Not that what is there is bad, but, the rims and tires should really give it an updated and eye-catching look. And you're right, the paint doesn't look that bad at all in the photo.

AM Radio? Yeah, you certainly need an upgrade there! lol! :) Minimum of speakers and a new head unit I would think. If the head unit plays a CD, you could make sure it plays MP3's and perhaps get away with no CD changer for now. That'll be $300 plus another $300ish for adequate speakers. With a strong enough head unit (min. 35w/ch) you can also delay an external amplifier. Gotta ask yourself if you want a separate woofer in the trunk though. That could be another 200 bucks.

On the heads and cam, a simple option would be to buy the Edelbrock package deal.
If you buy the parts separate, and since you're on a budget, you can check out prices on iron heads by Patriot Performance or Dart. I'd mention a cam but I don't want to start any arguments or long discussions! (pssst. CompCams, around 225-244 duration @.050 lift) :)
If you can afford the alum. heads, by all means go for it! AFR and Patriot again are good choices. (head port size needs to match cam size and RPM range!) I would think 190cc - 210cc tops.

I personally think you need something to add to the exterior. Like the dual stripes, or, just a little something on the side. Maybe the nose stripe like some of the old original Camaro's had.

Have fun with it, I'm staring at a rebuild on mine right now! At least yours runs!

Cool wheels! They look like Centerlines, are they? I finally saw the pic of the car. Definitely needed a wheel upgrade.
As far as the outside goes, Maybe you could do the 69 chevelle side stripe like Car Craft did on the Disco Nova! LOL
