You know those times when someone does something stupid, and you always think to yourself "its going to catch up with him". Yep, that's one of those times where it caught up!

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Not even sure I would run on a course set up at a place like that.

No course workers or timing equipment in sight.
I would love to have access to a lot big enough to set up my own test-n-tune course on. Even with those trees, a good course designer can keep it pretty safe if they know what they're doing... which that guy apparently did not.

To the GTO ,
He is only guilty of giving the car too much throttle when he had the front wheels turned ..
I've done it with the Z06 .
It's easy to make a mistake with a car with a lot of torque .
In response to the original post , it is safest to keep your foot out of it on the street ..
If you have a 100 hp car that will not spin the tires , the situation is different , but with a 500hp/500ftlb , car it can lose traction easily.
I've been told time and time again to only give a lot of throttle when the steering wheel is straight ahead.
It's especially true with a lot of torque.

I hate to say this, but I LOVE videos like this. Call it a guilty pleasure or whatever. As long as no people get seriously hurt, I could watch them all day.
...and there's no way I'd ever auto-x through that tree-infested lot. That's just asking for trouble- especially after he spun out once and showed he didn't really have a handle on it.
..and Cobra driver was obviously overmatched from the start. Way too much car/too little experience driving it. Oh- and could that lift-off hardtop be any uglier?

The GTO.....I can't throw stones!! LOL
The Mustang....the guys are total idiots for doing that in THAT lot!
The Cobra....If she wasn't hurt BEFORE the wreck.......! But in all reality, the car owner that allowed that deserved that! LOL!

Talk about embarrassing.
Showing off in your muscle car, is like a girl flashing her boobs. Once you've seen it, there's no mystery.
Go slow, stay legal, stay in one piece. It's way cooler!
Plus; How bad would you feel, if you lost it, and accidently hit some young kid, who was admiring your car, on the side of the road?

I couldn't agree more. Being a young adult, I find myself wanting to screw around on the street sometimes. The time my friend attempted to do a fish-tail at the u-turn by my house in his Roush mustang, sealed the deal for me. He is a sponsored road racer, but for some reason the car got grip half way through and shot the car straight towards a concrete retaining wall. Screwed up the body kit, wheel and one Nitto tire. I about had a heart attack. I save being real stupid for the track.

Years and years ago when Jeff Smith was editor of Chevy High Performance they did a comedic comparison of Mustang owners vs Camaro owners. I recall laughing heartily and finding much of the analysis startlingly true.

We get asshat young punks doing the same thing in Mustangs and Ricers in our town. Daddy buys his senior boy a Ruststain...Mustang for graduation and immediately thinks it's the fastest car in town . I get them lining up against my '71 Chevelle all the time , but I don't show them the taillights even though I could. One idiot tried to get a known street racer buddy of mine to race him in his new Cobra ( search Youtube for Ronnie Pace, he has a low 8 second whipple-charged 632BBC Nova) !

I would like to see it. I have always had V8 cars from the time I was 16. Same with my brother, my parents raised us right and I had a healthy amount of respect for them and I always drove with restraint. I can remember driving around on a weekend night going to the movies or whatever in my LS1 Z28 and every Mustang in a 10 mile radius would try to race me or rev their engine at me. I never engaged anybody. I can only think of one time where somebody in a Trans Am did the same, but it was a heads/cam car with bigs/littles on it and I rolled down the window and told him he wasn't fooling anybody. I am not making sweeping statements about Mustang guys, but there certainly was a trend.
