Hello all,
The car will not fire by just turning the key. In order to start the car, you must pump the throttle ten times, manually pump the lever under the front fuel bowl and rear bowl. Once you smell gas, then you can turn the key and get fire. Can someone tell me what needs to be taken care of on this damn carb? Also, the car ran fine for a year and a half before this problem came out of nowhere. One more thing...The engine builder did clean out the plates on the front and rear of the carb already. Anything else that can be done? I'm all ears.

David,
If the carb has been sitting or has fuel in it that's 3 months old then it may start to display problems.
I'd advise to take the carb off and break all the parts down for cleaning.
You may have something going on with the needle & seat or the accel pump needle may be stuck under the squiter nozzle.

This carb issue is weird. After the car is started with the method I described in the first post, you can drive it like normal. After driving the car for 20 minutes we stopped to get gas, and the car started on its own (just turning the key). Whats funny, or not so funny, the next morning, the damn car wouldn't start normal (by pumping the throttle a few times and turning the key).

Your gaskets could be slowly leaking down over night.
Look in the site glass before you fire her up....rock the car a bit to see if there's gas in there....sounds like the bowls are going dry.
If it's really bad your welcome to send it to me and I'll look it over and live test it.

Both of the bowls have been full before trying to start the car.

Are you running a fuel cell with the foam in it? I ask because I have seen problems with the foam deteriorating and plugging lines, and Carbs. I hear allot of people having problems with the gas we are getting these days. It seems to kill some types of braided fuel line as well as other things in very short order.

I've seen passages blocked from Demon's machining there parts and not deburring them so you need to break it all down.

x2 to shaker, I pulled apart a brand new out of the box demon 750 and there were metal flakes inside the carb.
