T56 shifter location. Do I need to move forward?

I am putting my LS2/T56 in my 68 camaro finally and I know the shifter sits farther back then the stock one. Is it so far back that it will feel weird to drive? Anyone have pics of where theirs is? Im trying to decide if I need to order a shifter relocation kit or not.

If I do get a relocation kit which one do you guys prefer?

I have a LS in my Camaro with a 6060 behind it and it fits perfect. Right in the middle of the hole. I am using the ATS plates. Hope that helps.
