Figure'd I'd do a performance report for my track day yesterday. I'm still uploading some pics and video.

I met up with Dave (Orngcrush69) from the site and we had a blast. There was a pretty nice little falcon out there which rounded out the old car group. Too many of you were running the peanut at goodguys this weekend! I actually really surprised so many would rather run the Goodguys peanut instead of a full road course?

Overall, it was damn near a perfect day at Buttonwillow. This place seems to usually be either hot as hell or freezing. While it did get a bit warm late in the day it was pleasant nearly all day with blue sky and wispy white clouds.

Anyhow. Here are some pics:

Buttonwillow still has some greenery left! ha ha

Getting chased down by a GTR and Porche. These guys were running around 2.02 lap times though the Porche paid the price later in the day...

Ok Suspension gurus. What tuning would you recommend based on the stance of the car in this pic? The outside front tire is not doing a whole lot here...

Here is a lap using my Iphone and Harry's Laptimer Pro

I will post some more pics and video as I get it uploaded.

Thanks for posting pics and video. I haven't made it to Buttonwillow yet but I hope to later in the year. It's my favorite track and I've yet to run my Camaro there.

How to do a trackday when you have significantly more money than I can comprehend. Full size Diesel pusher bus/motorhome with full size trailer. Notice the "spare" yellow porche on the lift still?

Here is the Carnage from the Porche :(

EDIT: here is a LapTimer video where you can see the Porche's bumber/facia on the track just on the other side of Lost Hill

Alright Dave. Hers is the video from my gopro on your car.

Sadly I screwed up and it was still on upside down mode. Good news is I was able to rotate the video properly with an editor. Bad news is that even though youtube says this thing is in 1080p the quality suffered quite a bit :(

EDIT: Ok one guess for you guys on why I really like the 9:02 mark and a minute of two of footage from then on?

Dave. I feel bad. This video doesn't do your car or your driving justice. You were faster than me and a lot of those guys most of the day and we didn't get any good footage of you dominating :(

Also, Look at the fender to bumper relationship during the video. Really demonstrates the body flex in that big ol' car!

Thanks for the pics and videos. I'll have to look into that Harry's lap timer pro! App for Android maybe?
Looked like a lot of fun. Yeah, there was no money sitting in that set up with the porsche! Must be nice. Going in style for sure. I'm looking forward to more events in the year and meeting more of you folk.

Great vids Chad. I really like the overlay on top of the track with the labeled corners showing speeds. Was there a difference between the speeds in red and green? Was one braking and the other acceleration? Man, I hope you guys go again July 30th. I'd love to try the lap timer app you used. I'm just amazed at how much more interesting these track days can be using this sort of technology.

Yeah its been a lot of fun playing with this App. I stayed up way to late last night playing with it and it was almost the first thing I started to do this morning :)

Ok so regarding the overlay on google maps above. The colors of the MPH numbers don't mean anything as far as I can tell. However the colored blocks size and color mean something. It referes to how many G forces you are pulling. The fatter the block the more G forces and you can select at which G force the color changes. For this Overlay I chose the color to change to yellow when I exceeded .6 G's and to change to red when I exceeded .85 G's. You can adjust the color however you want after the fact.

Pretty damn cool app for $15 :)

Great pictures and awesome vids. Hope to see you guys at the Speed Ventures event July 30th.

Chad, you should ride passenger in my car next time out. I noticed a few spots you could pick up time.

Another pic I took from a video I'm trying to edit. This was the hot pits first session of the morning. It was beautiful out!

Dude, who needs fancy equipment when you have a blackberry, review mirror, zip ties and tape eh? That vid came out great. And jesus your car is a beast! You even threw some editing in there. I'm impressed :)

Dave, car looks like it's handling pretty damn good. Looks like the Nitto's were treating you well. Any changes to the rear suspension since last time we were out?

Here is another video for your guys viewing pleasure. This one is from the gopro. Sadly my video editor won't keep it true 1080p but it still looks pretty good. This was from the first session of the day and the lighting and sky made for some awesome shots on my quarter panel :)

Great video Chad. What suspension are you running in the rear? I spent the whole time watching that rear tire... awesome. lol
For you non Iphone users, I found an app for the Android market under Trackmaster by Trackaroo. Looks to be about the same as Harry's.
Time to get out to the garage and keep plugging away on her. I'm missing a lot of fun out there.

Chad, I took the blackberry footage and cut it down on moviemaker, lol. Gaetano I didn't do anything else to the car since the last time I was out. I was just getting used the car and getting faster! The car was getting loose later in the day and I should have tighten the rear.

You definitely looked faster. Rear was probably getting loose due to track heating up at end of the day. I sent you a pm on an option to explore for a bottom end.
