Well, first of all, your car is has the same chassis as the 74 Nova. On top of that, I think that's the same as the first gen Camaro. Try doing a search in the suspension section. Make sure your head doesn't explode though. There's a ton to learn. Got any pics of your car? Good luck with it. Oh yeah, welcome to the site.

no i don't have any pictures of my car,I just bought it at the end of January it will be my daily driver. But I have had not a chance I will have to rewire it and do the brakes.I looked at baer brakes and stainless steel brakes and they are out of reach for me so I hope I can come up with some modifications to do on a budget.

I want to Thank everone for making a person welcome. So far I have learned a little about suspension but blew a gasket the other day:icon_razz .So much to take in so I am trying to narrow it down and sofar I have gotten some good tips.So I am wondering being new to all this if it would be better to start off with Guldsrands mods first and then go to GW for a upgrade?
Thanks,Cliff

We should do a NC pro-touring get together. Maybe get everyone to come out to the Grill 57 cruise in, in Garner, sometime.

Steve68, it's a REALLY small world! I lived in New Bern for 10 years until I was 16, then moved to Raleigh [high school], then back to Greenville [college @ ECU], then on Greensboro [work], then back to Greenville again [worked at Overton's] before moving to oHIo. My Dad still lives in NB and owns an HVAC company (going on 30 years now). Ever heard of Hardison Heating & Air in NB? What's your last name Steve?

That's funny Dan, The name of the A/C sounds familiar, where is it? I used near the Weyhauser plant on the river, Spring Hill Rd, was where we lived, I used to drive my 68 around up there, but this was 87', used to go to the Sonic, and drive over to Atlantic Beach, my last name Harley, later Steve

Steve, I'm sure we've chewed some of the same New Bern dirt! Back when I was in college @ ECU I worked with Dad during the summers. I generally hung out at the NB drag strip and cruised the same spots you mentioned, particularly Sonic and Broad St. in NB. Here's a 'bad' pic of the Nova I was driving back then (http://www.danhardison.com/my_old_novas/nova1_blue.jpg). Dad's shop was located on Guion St for about 15 years, but he's recently moved it to the Bridgeton area. I drivien by Weyhauser thousands of times (by boat and car). Never could get use to that smell...... :scared:
Where do you live now days?

Thats so funny, my mom was living in Bridgeton with her boyfriend, I don't know where she lives now, I was going to go to ECU, tons of women!!! but decided to come to FL, better job, I've been to that strip, there used to be a real fast V-6 firebird, racecar, I still can't get into 1/8 mile, when did you live there?. around the same time I did 87'

Ahhhhh the women at ECU.......
I lived in NB from 1973 - 1983 (1st-9th grade), but like I mentioned I was there for every vacation/holiday/summer working with Dad from 1973-1990. My Dad still runs his cars at the NB drag strip every Friday night. He recently picked up a '71 Nova that runs 5.80s in the 1/8 and pulls the front end 4' in the air for the first 30' of the run. Crazy..... :scared:
Up to the point where I left Greenville in '02 I would race my Nova at NB on Fridays, Jacksonville on Saturdays and Kinston on Sundays.
I don't know any Harleys in that area but my Dad owns three of them! Harley-Davidsons that is.

No, I live in Delaware, OH now (just north of Columbus). Interestingly enough, I'll be down in NB this weekend and part of next week visiting Dad.

My buddy had a 74 Ventura when we were 16. About 9 years ago. It came with an old Pontiac 350. We got a 403 Olds really cheap and put it in there. It ran really good. Cool old car. Memories........

I guess if I looked at the location I would have noticed where you were Dan, I'm going to take a couple pic of the Nova later, I try to post them, Steve
