I am doing some work on my inner fenderwells, and was wondering what kind of filler material would be suited for the heat that exists under hood.

I'm not slathering it on, but a skim coating to make some of the ground down welding marks smooth. I have seen people cake it on on firewalls, and I always think, "that's not going to last very long" but what is designed to take the heat?

I used duraglass on my quarter seams, and have polyester filler for finer work...either one work well?

thanks!

Bondo will be fine under the hood! We have used it for years under the hood and have never had any problems.

The sun beating down on any paint job would be much hotter than the engine compartment, so the usual fillers should be fine

Try to use better grade filler,it will be easier to work especially in tight areas
