They do, but I've had mixed success with them.

The only thing that has worked every time so far is to weld a bolt or nut to the lug nut to use a regular socket or lug nut wrench.

You could try finding a socket that will barely not fit and try jamming it on and see if it will turn. Sometimes you can get them loose that way. Six_Shooters method is probably the best.

welding something else on has always been my go-to method of success.

i thinking i probably use an impact socket to tap on and use my breaker bar to get it off...shouldnt be on that tight..

Hammer on a socket and hit it withan impact. I've had good luck with that. It's a little crude but will get the job done.

I also use the hammer, socket, and a roofing nail or 2 if needed, it's worked everytime on wheels with just a little clearance.

I've used the weld-on method and the hammer socket method. The only other way I've used that hasn't been mentioned is one of those Gorilla sockets with the pins in it. That got some old wheel locks off for me.

I had a set of McGaurd wheel locks and 15" Cragar wheels with enough room that a small pipe wrench would lock on them well enough to work. It was fun figuring out how to get leverage on the wrench without messing up the wheel. A board across the wheel and a pry bar or pipe another board or any thing strong enough will work.

If you have no love for them at all , you can drill the end and use an easy out tool. Start small and work your way up to what works.

Just today I got back from removing the four lock nuts on my old car that has been sitting at my friends farm for 6 years. On the first lug nut we used a socket (must be 12pt) that barely fit over the nut, and beat it on with a hammer, since lock nuts are a thicker diameter towards the wheel, they get on there very snuggly. Down side is your socket is ruined. Since I did not have another socket that size on hand, we actually removed the other three with a nut extractor we found in my friends toolbox that luckily fit the lock nuts, it looked somewhat like this but with more gooves
