Hey guys, I've been a member for several years and have started to get to know some of you through posts or chat. I thought it might be time for an intro. I'll be posting the car I'm building in the projects section soon.
We live in Shawnee, KS. My wife and I (Shannon) have two sons (Evan 3yrs and Riley 10mo).
My back ground is 1/4 mile dragboats. I've been working/driving them since I was 16 (33 now). We spend 8-10 weekends in the spring/summer racing around the midwest and beyond. A sponser talked us into a 3 year stint with NHRA running an alcohol dragster and then a funny car, but he went away with the economy in '07.
We all sold the whole race setup in 07 just before my oldest was born. I bought a 67 camaro in '08 for a side project so I'd have something to tinker on while we weren't racing. Fast forward 3 years and we have decided to go boat racing again. It's not a capsule ride like before, but it will be running in the 8.00 sec class in the 1/4 mile. Our first race is in May and sneaking up on us.
My family (wife, parents, brother and his wife) all are a team and we have been able to do this by learing to do all of our own fiberglass, fab, and engine work on our own. I want to bring that same experience to my car by doing everything in my garage.
Here's the boat that I will be sharing driving duties with my brother on.

I frequent the forum a lot. So if you see me around or in chat, say hi.
