I was looking at the top of the cowl section (area above firewall) on my '67 Camaro, and debating on closing this area in. Aside from acessing the wiper arms, motor, etc. is there any other reason why I couldn't close up this area? I was thinking about weldng in the "holes" and creating my own removable access door, in the event I needed to remove the wiper arms. I just don't seem any reason to have this opening there. It would also eliminate water from running down to the corners of the car, beneath the front fenders. Am i missing something, or is there another reason you would want this area vented?

Is that not where the fresh air for the ventilation system comes from? (it seems to be on my El Camino, anyway)")

I believe Derekf is correct, you could probably reroute the air intake to the fenderwell or something if you wanted though.

Ah, they beat me to it! Should've checked his thread before I asked the question. I love that build. So if this is where the fresh air is coming in, I wonder if they are routing theirs to come in somewhere else?

He's running a Vintage Air unit so no fresh air.
