Wiring Kits: Fuses and Connectors

Which wiring kits include the factory type connectors or at least have them available seperately?

Also is there an advantages to using blade fuses as opposed to glass fuses?

Vehicle is a '68 Firebird if that matters.

American Autowire classic update kits include the factory connectors and use a modern blade style fuse box. Advantage is the newer wiring kits include provisions for upgrades like pw, pl, fuel pump, etc and have their own fuses circuit available without butchering to make an original harness work

The AAW classic update is a really complete kit and nicely put together. It uses factory type connectors. I got mine from Mike at Musclerodz.

Here is a description of different harness styles.

Aftermarket harnesses are "replacements". Unless the word "reproduction" is
used it will not look like the original harness with all connectors. Many
companies sell the replacements and indicate they are a 'match' for the
original. They are not. Some, no matter what part number you order will get
you the same universal GM harness.

We feel our "Mopar" harness is the best example of that replacement. It is
built for the Mopar engine and fits the stock or modified steering column. We eliminate the
fire wall plug as I am sure you are aware, this is the worst part of the
harness along with the fuse box.. Eliminating the trouble spots ands using
better materials avoids future problems. We also use heavier wire and print
the use of the wire very clearly on them.

We upgrade the fuse box to the model shown in our advertisements. Because
we make our harness so you install one section or circuit at a time, it is
much easier to understand and install.

The headlight switch is a very good GM version and the knob and bezel that
match our SYNERGY switches that can dress up your dash board with polished
aluminum and color. It does not have extra circuits for hidden headlights,
either electric or vacuum.

When we don't send you a particular connector, you will have to reuse the
stock plug. We can offer the help you need to decipher which wire matches
which factory color.

We sell a great product and offer a lifetime of support even to subsequent
owners. That's right, if you have our wiring in your car we can help you
troubleshoot it for a long time. We do this by attaching a serial number to
the side of the fuse box. This let's us look you up and know exactly what we
sold you. Other brands don't do this because every harness is the same
universal.
