I'm putting the flywheel on my LS3 and it looks like there should be a dowel pin holding it in place. Do I need to get one or is this just an alignment hole? If so, do all LS engines use the same pin?

LS engines don't have dowel pins on the crank. The bolt pattern is not symmetrical, so it only bolts on one way, not that it matters because LSx engines are internally balanced.

Thanks. It wasn't there for the flex plate, so I hoped the flywheel didn't need one. Everything was drilled like it could use one and the GMPP catalog has one listed, so I was a little concerned.
