They look like cutouts for aerocatch hood pins. But I don't see the latches yet.

Ok just took a second look. They may be there just in the closed position. Hard to tell as the latches are black.

VERY nice car!! Was the flush mounted glass hard to do? How do you like those machined hood hinges I have been trying to justify a pair for my T/A.

surreyboy
03-21-2011, 05:16 PM
They seem to do a good job of keeping the hood up which I've had problems with before on my old camaro. The front glass was not bad to do they used flat bar all along the channel to raise the surface up and cut the top part of a stock windhshield and it fits well. The rear also had to have the channel raised up but the entire glass is custom made. They had to make a form which the glass guys melted a piece over then laminated another piece on top. Yearone doesn't sell the glass but they do list it in their catalogue.

TEXAS PAUL
03-21-2011, 05:30 PM
Are those hinges ring brothers? That's awsome you went that extra mile for the smooth look with the glass, I knew Yearone offered the back glass but nobody offered the front. If your glass guys are interested in making more drop me there phone #. Where did you get the weather striping that fits between the glass and body?

thanks,
Texas Paul

surreyboy
03-21-2011, 05:51 PM
The hinges are fesler. Yearone shows the rear glass in their catalogue but when i called they said they were considering selling it but at the moment they dont. Im not sure if they ever sold it? The guy who did the rear glass has been very unreliable its taken almost 2 years to get it done,he does yacht windows and thats his main priority it seems. And its very fragile and im sure would break if shipped .I think ppg has custom glass at certain locations so you might want to look into that. The weatherstripping is just some standard stuff the glass installer supplied. Im sure its easy to source from someone local to you. I can find out what exactly it is if you like.

Can those headlight be purchased from year one or did you fabricate them? If you fab'd them up what lights did you use and where do we get the mess? Awesome job on the car!!!

Radical Rides
12-26-2011, 03:34 PM
The lights we used where from a 96 chev silverado truck they where profection replacements they take alot of fab work to make fit to say the least lol ...and to get them angled right so they actually function it was a ton of screwing around im not sure how you would make them work in a factory rubber bumper we had the luxury of having a fiberglass nose to work with so we basically cut out all the factory headlight provisions and made a fiberglass bucket with adjustment screws in them then built the headlight surrounds and grilles out of some factory plastic pieces and plastic welded them togethor did a ton of body work and painted em....not sure Id want to do it again lol

12-27-2011, 01:46 PM
what acessory bracket did you use on the ls?

Radical Rides
12-27-2011, 06:33 PM
It is a custom setup we made inhouse we couldnt really get anything that was readily available to fit properly with the chassis and the engine set back ....most of the cars we do we end up modding the accesory brackets to fit
