What do you all think, I live in TN and have been looking for a Camaro for some time, and came across this (only 2 hrs away):

Without having the original engine, its hard to tell if its a real Z28 so cant really count on that. I know all Z28's had power front disc brakes, no AC, and a 12-bolt. This one happens to have AC, so I emailed the owner to ask if it is factory or aftermarket kit? Although I guess someone could have taken the original factory kit and added it to the car.

Seems pretty firm on the $28,400, but I think if I went to look at it, and bought it outside eBay, he would lower to maybe $27-28k.

Does this seem like a fair price??? Its just been hard to find a nice paint job, 4speed, and 12 bolt all together in one car that is close enough to drive to look at.

Trim tag has been removed at some point. I'd say it is worth it though.

I guess it depends on what you want out of the car. Are you looking to make it a PT car or leave it like it is? Personally, if I was looking at it for a PT style car, you would end up adding alot to it before you are done, especially starting off at the price of $28k (or whatever it is). It looks like it has a vintage air gen 1 kit in it. Honestly, I would look at that car as a 69 Z28 CLONE and figure my buying price that way. I didn't think cars with the gauge package had a Gen light? for that much money, I would hope the temp gauge and AC leak would be fixed. It might be a nice car, but I would keep on looking. If you like it in its current state, then pay what you think is fair and have fun!

Why do you say that? I am not looking at it as it is a real Z28, as I plan to mod the car, so dont really care if it is a real Z28 or clone.

You could probably find cheaper cars to modify that are in just as good or not better shape.

Yeah Ive seen a few... the hard part is finding one that is in good condition with a 12bolt and a 4speed. They are harder to find then you think... Ive been looking the past 2-3 months.

Phillips screw on one side, aluminum rivet on the otherside. I wasn't trying to discredit authenticity, even though it's obviously a clone.

Yes I stated that in the original post, and I had said i emailed him asking if it was a Vintage aftermarket kit or a factory kit. I obviously would never buy this car based on it being a real Z28 as there is no way of knowing for sure. But just helping my cause, I would be modding the car anyway.

If you are going to modify it, does it really matter that it has a 12 bolt and 4speed? He wanted 28k, but I think you could find the same car for 18-20k and could easily add a 12 bolt and change out the trans if you are handy for less than 10k.

That is a nice one, I'd like to see pictures of the trunk and under the carpet thou, same with window channels, hard to tell without seeing that, could have rust in those areas.

Check for rust in usual places. If panels look good 16-18 is a decent price with a CA sub

I would take a closer look at the rear quarter panel area. Its my bet that they are hiding some rust. From what I see in the pictures the gap between the tail panels and the quarters were also filled in. Other than the fact that the engine compartment is hideous I say its a pretty good price as long as it doesnt go over 20K
