Cleaned out old seam sealer and want to get drip rails smooth. Should I use seam sealer again or will short strand filler work???

On my 69 Firebird I used a two part self levelling seam sealer made by 3M. It flowed out nicely.

The self leveling seam sealer is what we use on all our restorations with drip rails. It is definitely the easiest way to get them smooth. It takes forever to use any kind of filler because there is so little room for sanding!
