Has anybody done this? How did it turn out?

For those who didn't see the episode, they sanded down the cracks & used like a vinyl filler type of stuff on the crack & then sanded & painted the dash... didn't look horrible...

I love this show and they provide some great ideas. Sometimes I wish they provided a little more detail but you can only get so much into a 30 minute sement and they typically touch on the most important details. I'm planning on updating the exterior door handles on my '70 Skylark like they did on the blue collar buick so I was really happy when I saw the previews for that episode!

Sorry, Brad, but I didn't understand you were asking a question here.
I thought since you saw the episode, and how it turned out at the end, that would be enough to convince you of how well it actually worked (junk dash turned into like new dash, at low cost/minor effort).

Considering if you'd send a dashpad to Just Dashes for a similar repair, you're looking at almost $400, compared to under $100 as they did it, themselves; I'd say it's worth trying, as I'm planning to do, as well!

Here's a 3M 2 part epoxy kit I'm going to try on mine, that should do the trick:

No worries... I just don't know or didn't catch the name of the product they used for this fix. Just wanted to find out if anyone knows... I'm sure it's probably 3M & would like to hear the gory details of their experience.

I rewatched the episode a couple more times, they never specified the brand or product, only referred to it as "a 2 part epoxy repair kit" and then "a plastic filler that's flexible, so it won't crack like other fillers".

I like musclecar....I ended up buying up all their "start to finish" dvd's off the website. Lots of tips and ideas. Plus they just started on a early 2nd gen camaro.

3M 05895 EZ Sand Flexible Parts Repair is the product to be used in conjuction with 3M 05907 Polyolefin Adhesion Promoter.... I've not used it yet, but here is the info I was looking for (better late than never)
