hey guys, im looking to get a new carb, the edelbrock performer series i have is on its way out after the second rebuild over the years. i was looking on summit racing and i saw they had deals on these street/strip carbs , i was wonderign which setup i should go with. i have a 383 stroker with a t56 . i will be doing crusiing around town, with some auto-x and spirited driving so i want the car to perfrom the best it can. i am not to sure on what cfm to get and if i should get a mechanical or vaccum secondary or a electric or manual choke? here are the carbs im looking at, which would be the best? thanks-Dom

Hi Don,
I like the Summit carbs and we may have talked a bit about them?

If you were to get one I would recomend the MO8750MS for your combo.

Maybe you can post more engine & combo specs but I think one of my custom builds may benefit yuou the best.

If you were interested, I orffer wideband tuning and would dial in your combo in person no matter what carb you decide on.

A good old fashioned Holley HP 750 with Mechanical Secondaries.

That Summit carb is the old ( late 80's early 90's ) Holley 4010 or 4011. Not bad performance but I saw a number of them back in the day with leaky shaft seals.

The original design used Teflon shaft seals that would get out of shape and wear fast.

Maybe they have corrected since? Otherwise it was Holley's attempt at a removable top carb like a AFB design.
