I am trying to get my Dakota Digital cruise control lined out. The problem is it doesn't work at all, so when you put it in diagnostic mode it is showing that it is not getting a signal from the VSS, which is hooked to the same wire that sends the pulse signal to the speedometer that does work.
I have all of the dip switches set according to the instructions. The tech at Rostra told me I may have to install a magnetic pick up to the driveshaft for it to operate. I defiantly do not want to do that. Has anyone had any issues like this?

It's a Rostra piece?

I had to on a 2009 Ford Van install the Rostra magnetic pick up, since none of the other signals I had information on would work.

I have been able to install many Rostra CC kits without needing to do that since.

Anyway, what vehicle and what parts are you using?

69 Camaro, LS engine, T56 transmission, Speartech Harness, 2002 PCM putting out a 4000 PPM square wave signal. I have a buddy coming over tomorrow, we are going to swap out the control boxes from his car to verify the Rostra unit is good. I really do not want to install a magnetic pick up onto the drive shaft.
I have installed a few of these units also and have never had any problems. Thanks
