Alright guys, I did a search for "San Diego" and found no thread of this type. I found plenty of threads, some my own, that pertained to finding shops or posting car shows/cruises......

I want to make this a thread that lives and will supply San Diegans with information regarding car activities in the area. There is Del Mar of course but does everyone know about Coronado Speed Festival or all the auto-x events in the area?

Introduce yourselves. If you post an event, post the date in the title box of your message. Feel free to post up any car related event in the county whether it be North, South, East, County or on the coast. Show, Vintage Race, Auto-X, whatever.

I would eventually like to meet up at Del Mar or something.

For roll call purposes, I'm John and I live in Coronado. I know several of you are close and would like to meet up when I get my 'cuda out here in mid-April. I've seen a bad-azz 1st Gen Camaro running around Imperial Beach which prompted me to post this thread.

I was going up there anyway so might as well get a look at that Ford. A guy on my softball team is a Snap-On guy and will be vending, I'll be hanging out with him some of Saturday.

Dan, I passed that info along about your sale along to my Dad. He has a 69 RR but is tied up with a truck (70 Cheyenne) he is trying to sell before buying parts.

67ls1vert, there is a park down here in Coronado with a great view of the bridge and d-town SD, alot of car clubs and family gatherings there and a great view. I was thinking something like Encinitas because it is easily accessible to people coming from North, East and South and is good middles ground. Crawfish is local to me but I think we're the only two this far South. Maybe somewhere our cars can see some curvy roads? Lake Cuymaca to Julian is twisty but it's a little out of the way.

Yeah, the road to Julian goes right by my house and I see all kinds of cool cars driving by. There are times I see 15 to 30 hot rods and times I see over 100 motorcycles. Always looks like a good time. I was just at the Camaro car show by the bridge a few months ago the same weekend the speed fest was going on at Coronado. Didnt seem like it was very good this year for some reason.

I just found out about a cool little 'weekly'. It is in downtown La Mesa on Thursdays at around 6 pm. I was there yesterday and saw probably 80 cars cruising and parked all along the main drag. Really nice restaurants and good parking for your ride.
If you are in SD metropolitan area it is worth the drive.

Yes, the El Cajon cruise is pretty good on Weds. There is also a car show at the Santee Lakes on Fridays, the same time Escondido Grand ave. cruise is.

I need some suggestions in San Diego on who and where to take my GTO for paint. I need a shop that knows what they are doing, espically with classics. Its the curse of the endura bumper, I dont want to go through that again. Im doing it a matte black/gloss red....well thats the idea right now.

Mr Justin Sir,
I will call you back fri, I spoke to you about the black boyds wheels on tuesday. I have an idea or two to run past you.

Pro-Touring member "67 ls1 vert" owns Pat's Custom Cars. I have been to his shop up in Ramona several times and the work there is great stuff. He just did a Sunoco Camaro tribute car that is amazing. Send him a PM. He's a pro.

Best Of Show Coach Works in Escondido does great work and they are honest.. but they don't do "scuff and squirt" jobs meaning that they cheapest full paint job they do is 15K. A matt job would be cheaper though since they don't have to color sand and buff.
