I'm attempting to install a Kwik performance AC Bracket for a vintage air compressor and attempting to follow the instructions. My standard policy is to set them aflame and scoff at Big Brother's failure to recognize the intuitive wit and testosterone-driven vantage of the common man, but in this case I'm stumped.

One of the first steps is to switch 6-grooved pulley on the tensioner with the smooth idler pulley from the front drive accessory kit. Upon doing this, either myself and my camera have a severe case of astigmatism or there appears to be a spacer missing, becuase they don't line up. Is there an extra pulley or spacer missing that is superfluos to either the KWIK or accessory drive standard kit?

I'm trying to remember, but don't you have to change the wheel on the idler pulley? Check your directions again.
That idler pulley wheel is sitting way too high.

Do you have an F body pulley and a Corvette kit?

To my knowledge, this is what I have on the LS3 (L76 with an LS3 top end)

GMPP F Body accessories drive with Kwik Performance high mount A/C bracket.

There are three versions of the Kwik bracket - F body, Corvette and truck. Are you sure you have the right one for your application? I thought LS2/LS3 used the Corvette style accessories if I remember right.

Ahh, you know what? I believe I have the Corvette version; that's what the instructions say anyway. It looks like I have the "K10143 for LS1/LSx Corvette." The receipt I got from the Vendor says that I have the GMPP F-body accessory drive though.

Are these supposed to mate up correctly?

No way you can use the F body pulley with the Corvette bracket, you will have the problem you are seeing.

Hrmm...so do you think I just need to find the right pulley that goes on the tensioner or do I need to see about getting both pulleys that go on the KWIK bracket? I don't have the A/C compressor yet, so I'm not sure how that will align either....

If you have F body accessories I think you need the F body bracket kit. I would just return the Corvette one and get the F body one.

That smooth pulley doesn't look like it's seated all the way.

I wish that were the case. Unfortunately it's pretty snug. I think I just have the wrong parts.

Here's a pic of an F body pulley beside a Corvette pulley. The F body one is the thicker one that spaces the belt farther from the block. It looks like you have a Corvette pulley there. Maybe CFster is right and you don't have the pulley seated all the way.

Thanks for the photo, Don. I'll take a closer look when I get home and will report back later.
