Got $2k to spend on rear suspension, which should I go for? The BMR comes with a new rear (I'm guessing minus the center section and axles. I haven't seen to many posts about the BMR TA set up, if anyone has one, post some underside pics.

Front suspension will be GW Upper A arms, and Hotchkis Springs/Bilestins.

You should consult with BMR, but the way I read it there is no differential housing provided with the kit. "BMR kits are available for the popular GM 10 and 12 bolt or the Ford 9" rear ends and all kits are 100% bolt-in with no welding or fabrication required." Available for, vs. available with, are two different things. Besides, a new differential housing would eat up a lot of the $2000 cost.

It doesn't include a housing, they're only shown in the pictures for reference. As far as which is better, I'm willing to bet that owners of both are happy with them. The torque arm system is obviously the more technologically advanced system, but whether it performs better is arguable. Mary Pozzi goes pretty damn fast on leaf springs....

The Torque arm system from BMR is available for 10/12 bolt housing that are true bolt on pieces. OR with a new custom fabbed and welded 9" housing from BMR. With the 9" housing you must supply the center section and axles. The 10/12 kit uses your existing rearend with a adaptor plate that bolt on to mount torque arm to. With the 9" every bracket is welded to the housing at BMR. Contact me for pricing, I want be beat.

I would get global west Cat 5 springs and call it a day:

Spend the money on some good shocks, I like AFCO.

Thanks Chad, you beat me to it! To further clarify, the pricing on our website is accurate for the different applications. The 10/12 bolt kits utilize the OE rear and are priced at $2k while the 9" kit comes with a fully welded, backbraced, and powdercoated housing for $2500. If you are budgeting for a 9", make sure to include axles and internals as these are extra. We can build the 9" rear with GM housing ends to allow use of your OE brakes as well.

So the $1000 package is solely the torque arm with no suspension components?

Do you sell the full setup without shocks?

Yes, the $1000 setup is just the torque arm and torque arm crossmember. This is designed to be used with your leaf springs and a 10 or 12 bolt axle. It can be upgraded to the full kit at any time. The $2000 package is everything except coil-overs. All kits are complete minus coil-overs. We have various options when it comes to coil-overs and there are many more that can also be used which is the main reason they are not bundled with the kit. We have QA1 single and double adjustable coil-overs and AFCO double adjustables.

Vicinity,
We tried viewing your “Restoration Thread” to see what you’ve done so far to your Camaro, but the link doesn’t work.
Mary Pozzi and Carl Casanova are blowing away the competition on leaf springs, so don't count them out just yet. You can save a lot of money by using leaf springs and then you’ll have budget left over to upgrade your rear sway bar, subframe connectors, racing axles, or to spend on performance driving lessons or track days. After all, track time is the best way to make your car faster!
