A buddy of mine stopped by with his newly acquired Challenger and he wanted LED running lights installed. I think it looks slick.

how do these work? They are whiteish/blue when in driving light mode and go to amber when the turn signal part gets power? What brand are they are and where did you purchase them from?

Thanks
Tom

Those are really cool. Where can you get them... can the running lights be switched on or off?

I developed these for my car, a Dodge Challenger, since I always wondered why the Challengers never had fog lights. I wanted a day time running light that is multifunctional to also act as the turn signal. By multifunctional, the units have multiple LED arrays that change color to remain DOT compliant for front of vehicle illumination. The installation is all plug and play and uses the vehicles existing 1157 socket connection. The actuation is simply done by toggling the first position on the headlight switch, the parking lights. The once parking lights are now daytime running lights. A special circuit has been added to the LED arrays to switch between the white LED array and amber LED array and a set rate to act as the turn signal indicator. When the turn signal is cancelled the white LED array will remain illuminated. When the parking lights are not actuated the amber LED array acts as the regular amber turn signal bulb. Simple yet functional. Please watch the attached video for a better explanation.

Good morning -
Here are some shots of the LED arrays in '69 Camaro Lens. These are OEM factory lenses. I like the look.

I sent you a PM Nekkidhillbilly! Hey Brad - Sorry I missed you - Did you see Dwayne's car at the Steve McQueen show?

Sure did, he said you were at the lake show. I was hoping to make it to heritage days this year but looks like I will be in Norwalk OH at the rag races.
Will these bulbs fit in a 69 Chevelle parking lamp housing? It is rectangular instead of round. I could get you a housing and lens for R&D if you want.

I'll look for a Chevelle this weekend and check. Rick Ball is having a show to benefit the High School so I'll check out the iron there. If not I'll be in touch next week. The '69 Camaro lights turned out real nice and look incredible. Pictures soon.

When does the show start? I assume it is at the car lot. I may run over.

I've got a 69 Chevelle from Brad (Shep) and we'll see how they look. The fact that the LED's are round really doesn't have the effect that you think (a hot spot). The factory lens does a great job to muting or dispersing the light. I'll post some photos soon. I just hope they fit behind the lens!

so your product is a drop in replacement for an 1157 dual-filiment bulb, essentially. With a circuit for the turn signal. So the flasher in the OE fuse panel is retained or removed?

Just trying to understand the need for a circuit, if the unit replaces an 1157 which is a 3-wire bulb, on, flash, ground and upgrade the flasher like normal LED upgrades.

I must be missing something.

Also Pm pricing on custom/street rod 1157 kit/pair please.

You are correct - The LED array has an 1157 pigtail that plugs into the existing socket. Your stock wiring is retained as using a bulb. No modification. The only modification that may be required is the changing of the flasher module to a "No-Load" unit versus the stock bi-metal unit that works off resistance. I sent you a PM.

Can't find a person interested in letting mess with the front of their car. Cuda = Gold in these parts. I'll see if I can take a look at a few this weekend and see what I can come up with.

Got mine today. Did get a kit for my 68 Charger and my 70 GTX.
They work great, very bright.

PS: Thanks Tony for the free No Load flasher relay, turnsignal blinks more steady.

How's the Chevelle lights coming? Made any progress or keeping it under wraps until you can find a car to display them on?

Bigblue73
07-28-2011, 05:08 AM
The Chevelle lights for your car are about 80% done. I have a set of laser cut tabs made and I need to find a lens and gasket to ensure that they fit inside of it with no contact. It's a tight squeeze depth wise but it will work out. Are you ready for them? We'll have to install them and take some photos for the guys here.

I wish I was ready for them. I was hoping once you had them done you would put them in production too.

Bigblue73

I'm going to put them into production - But this is motivation for you to get your Chevelle project rollin' - I'll come over and help! LOL. I just got a bead on a lens off of Ebay - so I'm good.

Just completed - 71-72 Plymouth GTX / Road Runner. These cars came from the factory with clear lens on them. The Satellites had the amber lenses which will need to changed to clear parking lens. The lens are available on the aftermarket.
