I have a 69 Firebird converitble wih a cracked frame; anyone who knows of a good source (here in Southern California) for giving me a run down on what has to be done, would appreciate the pointers, tips and advice.

Thanks,

Thanks. I dont have the means to take pictures underneath the vehicle; my mechanic told me that it was near the steering wheel and he warned me that it would be dangerous to drive the car in this condition and that the steering wheel could lock up. He also said I would have to take out the entire engine to get to the crack...., I'd like another opinion, hence, a reliable sourc to take a gander. Thanks.

Find a Body and Frame Shop and let them look at it. Make sure they have a frame table (different names); this is a device that the car is placed on or in and measurements are taken to verify if frame damage exists after an accident. Not all body shops have this. They will not need to use the frame table to answer your question but they will have the knowledge to confirm the mechanic.
