Hi all -

As I mentioned in a couple other threads, I am currently in the process of a frame off on a '68 LeMans. I would appreciate some pointers on how I can strengthen the frame. I want it to someday handle about 550hp in a full PT set up. So far I am thinking about boxing the C channel frame on the sides, and installing a partial web like in the pic below, from Project "In Motion". I also spent some time (okay like 2 and a half hours) looking at Widowmaker's frame mods.

I am looking into ways to strengthen the rear as well, but could use a few pointers, or if anyone knows a website or article they could point me to. I would imagine it is also wise to "go over" some of the welds after sandblasting the frame. How about the control arm mounts (front and rear)? Is there anything that should be done to them??

I spent a lot of time looking at various build threads. Any further suggestions would be appreciated, since this is my first time starting a build like this.

Thanks!

Talk to Tyler from HPI Customs, there is a thread on Lateral G http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=30717 showing some of the stuff he is doing to A body frames and he will sell you all of some or all of the pieces he has made. (tell him I sent ya...) His username on Lateral-g is 64pontiac
