Well my 18th birthday has come and gone, and instead of a crotch rocket looks like im just putting more money into the camaro.
The plan is to find a f-body donor car and go from there, luckily I was planning on doing this before I dropped my current motor in so I know what im getting myself into.
I have been quite a lot of thought into forced induction especially turbos, but looks like I dont have the money to beef everything up enough to hold the power (but i know what im doing next winter)
So looks like just a cam and ls6 intake for a little extra kick in the pants for now. Just thought it would be nice to warn you guys before you have a new problem posted from me every day haha.
Also for those of you thatve done ls1 swaps before and have any wise words they're greatly appreciated.

When you start looking for a donor car you may want to check GM sports (http://www.gmsports.com) out. They are in San Jose and have a bunch of cars and already pulled engines.

Yea im already over at ls1tech same handle. And I would go to gmsort salvage but they seem to always have the worst prices out there. Im intent on going the donor car route, so i can part out the rest of the car for a few bucks.

Well as with my luck with cars goes my engine is knocking anywhere over 2500 rpm, so for the money it would be to fix it (im thinking main bearing starting to go...) I could just put it into the ls1.
After 2 days of research I think I came up with a damn good list of what is needed, as well as having found a good deal on a donor car. I made a thread (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3117224#post3117224) of what parts i would be using because aside frome nine ball I have yet to find a public list of what it takes to convert to a ls1, however as i dont own ls1tech.com my swap will be on a little more tight of a budget.
if you have any suggestions on what to use pm me and ill post them on there. also i will have every part from a fully loaded 99 ss camaro for sale except the engine trans harness and a few little bits and peices, as well as my old engine trans and ignition setup.

well i have pretty much completed the LS1 swap for about $2000!!! i bought a 99ss with frame damage but no body damage. these are the parts i kept: engine, tranny, drive shaft, radiator & fans, the engine harness, under hood fuse harness, leather seats, hood and trunk lift rods, fuel tank and fuel lines, parking brake handle/ lines, and mounts, disk brakes and master cylinder. I then cut the area around the master cylinder and clutch master out to graph to my 67. that way i can use the 99 pedals with the 99 brake and clutch master cylinders!!!!
I then sold off the rest of the parts on ebay to recover some $$$$$$ :)
I then bought a 99 vette filter/regulator at NAPA for $50. Use a swage lock fitting to connect the fuel line to the fuel rail. made my own S&P style engine mounts. made my own tranny mount using a comp eng drop mount similiar to the ATS one.
for the electrical i plugged the engine harness into the fuse harness and traced all the lines down. it is time consuming but not to complicated. For the VATS you can have a guy on ebay remove it for $30 or ask in the tuning section on LS1tech.
for headers i bought a set of LS1 pace setter headers. i had to modify the front two tubes on the drivers side and angle the collectors in some. it is not to bad if you have a welder.
I have not done my fuel tank yet. I plan on a DSE mini tub so i am waiting on that. A simple solution would be to sump the stock tank and put a inline EFI pump in. a better solution (expensive) is one of the custom tanks offered.
