I am probably posting this in the wrong section, but hey, who is going to stop me??? lol

I just have to share this, it is certainly unsolicited and will probably not get a reply from the company it is directed at, but I feel it just has to be said.
Sometimes people blow their own horns, you always have the want-a-bees come and go. Then you have those that are always going to to help out, but never step up.
As a somewhat part time promoter of events and one of those always looking for sponsorship dollars to help do one more event somewhere, I have learned the "Real Deal" is few and far between. There are the regulars, as I call them, that are always there, stepping up, writing the checks, and paying the freight so all of us can go to events and do what we built our cars to do. These guys always not only pay as sponsors, but give products for door prizes, and the list goes on and on. Then when the event gets here, they are never in the spotlight, just there to have fun like the rest of us. Ridetech, Bowler, BFG, Vintage Air, Baer, Wilwood, Forgeline, Prodigy, Spectre Carbon Kustoms and others come to mind, some have been very supportive since day one of the original RTTHs.

2011 rolls around and here it is a week before the second annual RTTC. I get a call from Kyle Tucker with DSE last night and here is the jest of the conversation. Hey Bill, Kyle. Truck is packed, is there anything else you need, oh and btw, we have an extra spot on the truck if anyone needs their car hauled out.
So we get to talking about the event, the hobby and business in general and how 2011 is looking better than 2010. Then I get a shocker. I tell him we are looking forward to seeing him at RTTC and I am guessing he is just leaving the Truck and Trailer out west cause the GoodGuys shows are in about a month, etc.
NO, they are driving ALL the way across the country, in a 18 wheeler, bringing 2 cars, Setting up their rig as a support vehicle for everyone, Sponsoring the Road Course segment of the event, then, simply driving back home. All this just to support RTTC and their customers.

Guys, this company (and others) are the real deal, period, end of discussion. They would never blow their own horn about this, and may get upset with me for doing it, but that is ok, I will deal with the fallout! I hope that everyone attending RTTCII will find the time to personally thank Kyle and crew for their commitment and support. I also hope that the next time you read a thread somewhere about how XYZ has control arms $2 cheaper or windshield wiper motors "just like" DSE, you will remember this thread and link it or send the OP a pm with the link.

It is only because of companies like this that we can continue to have events and new technology for our vehicles and I hope everyone will support them next time you buy parts.

I absolutely abhor knockoff products from copycat companies whether it be DSE, Ridetech, Hydrotech or any other of our long time sponsors that suffer and I hope you will never fall for the price game and not consider the whole picture.

Like I said, sometimes this just doesn't get said, so I thought I would do it on my own.

Good post! I owe all of these folks a thank you for what they do for our hobby. As it becomes more financially feasible, I plan to make good on my promises to some of these vendors to become a good customer.

... And that's the reason DSE and other sponsors for these events and on this site have sucessful business'... They haven't lost touch with the people that got them where they are today.

I met Kyle briefly at Goodguys Pocono and listened to him give advice to anyone that asked at the autocross course... he really made being a nice person look easy. Total Class Act.

Bill, will they be attending RTTS? It would be awesome to meet them and see their cars out on the track...

Sean, unfortunately, RTTS is the same weekend as DelMar Goodguys. While that doesn't effect participants, DSE, Ridetech and others have prior commitments to that show and just can not be in two places at one time. DSE is trying to at least have one car at RTTS, but Kyle and Stacy both have to be in DelMar. This will not happen next year, RTTS will be a weekend that is not a conflict with GGs.We were forced to make this decision this year because it was the only weekend we could get.

Bill- I am big supporter of using as many DSE products here @ the shop because of what DSE does for our hobby!

...and because they back it up by running their stuff and showing that it works. Same with Bret at Ridetech.

Well said Bill.

Man Bill,
Your words ring true! We've been nothing but blown away with the quality of vendors that support our events. Even though we're always on a shoestring budget with our projects, supporting these guys is a no brainer.
Thanks for posting this!

Well said Bill. But we all know those people. The ones that step up but are always in the shadows. They do what they need to do without wanting any of the glory. It's appreciated wether it is a great company or just some guy.

That's a great story Bill. We gotta love how they show up everywhere and beat their cars up. Just like we do! I bought DSE. Their catalog and the people I talked to at GG's Columbus convinced me they know what their doing. Thank you for supporting us. I will continue to support DSE.

Safe journey cross country everyone.

I will never forget at Motorstate when I lost my brakes. Alot of vendors stepped up, Todd at Baer GAVE me a set of pads, and Kyle, let me borrow several of his Snap On tools(anybody that buys Snap On, usually does like to let them out of thy're site), and repeatedly asked if there was anything he could do to help. This is just a great group of guys(and gals). Anyone who has ever met Kyle knows what a class act he is. Its funny I helped Payton King wrench on his car til the wee hours at RTTH, it kind of forged a freindship that has me talking to him several times a week.

The contingency program worked out really well for me this year(manna from heaven). It will have me putting BFG's on my Mustang, person cars, and my company trucks as well. We really do need to support those who support us( I wish everyone thought this way, maybe we wouldn't have so much of this China built crap in this country )sorry, that really bugs me.

Thanks Bill, for continuously rallying the troops, and doing all you do, I know it has to be a PITA at times. It should be a great year, can't wait to get started. Ron

Nice post Bill. I know the group at DSE would never think twice about doing what they do. I still have the Quadra-Link and minitubs on my to-do list for my '69, possibly their subrame too. I don't mind paying for quality, proven parts.

Yep, Kyle and Stacy are a class act, I'm glad to know them! In addition to the support they provide our hobby, they're true enthusiasts as much (or more) as they are a business.

Figure if he breaks it, he knows how much abuse a part will take in his customer's hands.
