Extended weather forecast is for the wet stuff on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday but dry on Sunday.

Sorry and don't shoot the messenger. Also hope I'm wrong.

I for one think it would be cool for it to rain... Although I do hope it is dry for all of the out-of-towners, its just not right to come to California and have it rain.

Yah, that's the same thing I was going to say. It's supposed to rain Wed, Thur, Fri, and Saturday of this week but I didn't see anything yet for next weekend. Ten days out is usually about as far as weather forecasts will try to predict and even those aren't overly accurate.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that one, bud. There will always be people who don't spin out, and manage to run a clean, fast lap, and then there will be people who spin out, and if it rains Bill had better buy a crate of pink cowboy hats for the weekend.

Yeah I hear ya on that. I guess I am thinking the difference between everyone's best clean lap (assuming everyone can get one) could be smaller with rain since the big 700-800hp guys won't necessarily be able to really use all that power as much as on dry. I think?

Rain is a sweet game-changer. Big horsepower and fat summer tires become liabilities.

Wait, what? Did you open your big bottle of "geese like the rain" early, or am I the only one that thinks this sentence lacks any clarity?

On a side note, Dave, don't take my comment too seriously. I have no idea whether or not rain would be a great equalizer in terms of horsepower disparity. All I can say with fair certainty is that the pink cowboy hat, or whatever new form of public shaming they come up with this year is going to be a hot commodity if it rains!

Actually, Matt, when I first commented I really hadn't thought too much about it. But your reply got me thinking on it (what a concept to think before you post and hit submit), and at the end of the day, with the extreme variances in vehicles and driver experience/ability..... ah hell, I dunno either. I'm a big rookie anyway. :D

If it rains, I would think a pink hat would be a lot less shameful and more common!

Already warned my wife I may get a bit (more) cranky if this forecast holds and we get sh_t on by mother nature. I've been looking forward to this all year. A great chance to run my car hard legally and that ain't possible if I'm half-pedaling and sliding all over the place in the rain and cold. Not worth all the damn cleaning in my opinion, or having my wife sit in that kinda weather with the camera. I'll just show up with my camera and support others who are more hardcore than wussboy me. Come on momma nature, show us some love and keep that damn rain outta here.

C'mon Chris ... run with scissors!!! We'll have the enclosed trailer there and your wife can get out of the rain plus you'll have a dry place to store your gear. Grab a bottle of RainX and go at it. It is what it is ...

Haha. Thanks for the offer and words of inspiration Mary! :) I do appreciate that! For me, there are 2 reasons to attend RTTC: 1) to test the changes to and the limits of my car and, 2) to hang out with everyone and see everybody else running their cars also. I just can't see how I get to do #1 in a rain-soaked mess. Like I said, I'm just not that hardcore and don't really have a desire to see how good I am or good my car is at driving in the rain. However, I'm very content with still being able to participate in activity #2 at the event. Actually, when you're not driving in the event, you have a lot better opportunity to talk with everyone and see all the other cars running. So if it's raining when I wake up on Saturday morning, or the doplar shows rain is eminent, I'll be more than happy to just cruise up from San Diego in the family car and bring my camera and umbrella and support everyone and the event in any way I can. I imagine they'll be some extra cone and track maintenance needed.

But I'm still praying for the rain to stay out of the El Toro area! I made a lot of damn changes to my car I want to try out!

Look forward to seeing everyone there!
