Yum yum
These are the widest we can go on 24s
Lv42
My first build was my 03 single cab ram widebody
Bagged body droped
The second was my brothers 05 f150 crew cab wide body on 30s
His style was a bit on the "donk" side but that's wat
U get when u play with those size wheels.

I like the body work, especially the exhaust exit (got anymore pics of the exhaust work). but I'm not feeling the huge wheels, to big for my taste.

Bad ass! You'll get alot of hate on the wheels here, man.Don't sweat it. I like the look,it may not be as functional as 18's or 19's and not for everyone who likes their stock 14's or 15's,but car sits perfect, I was going for similar look on my 69 Firebird, but got a deal on a set of BBS 18x13 and 18x14.5,so I will be doing a crazy widebody
i'm digin it, she is sitting just right. do you have a color picked? any pic's of the frame changes. keep the pic's coming.

I'm VERY interested to see how you widened the 1/4 panels/wheel well openings, as I'm working on a '70 Buick GS, trying to figure out the same thing, of what the best contour will be for this type of body.
Is that sidepipes exit built in to the rockers, just ahead of the rear wheels?

Gsx
Slicin' n dicin'
I'll post up some pics of how we cut the panel off and re-routed some body lines.
We opened the wheel well from front n rear
Yes those are side openings for the exhaust
Gsx your panels are very similar to mine the only
Difference is that crease similar to what
I have to deal with on my 71 camaro rs I just got

I guess I'd like to know what the purpose of the car is before I can comment. If you are trying to win the "bigger is better" contest, then you have succeeded. If you have other, more performance oriented goals, I can't say that you've hit the mark.

Im building this car for my pops
As soon as I'm done I'm goin yo hand over the keys to him.
He doesn't exactly know what is being done to it
Other that it Is missing from our barn.
Its just a car that I want my pops to feel "Chingon" (bad ass)
When he's givin moms a ride down the PCH or to Santa Barbra
A cruiser you'd say
The complete opposite I will do with my 71 rs

We also made our own console gauge cluster
Dash panels
W/molds
All door panels are custom aswell
We are running front and rear seats from a GTO
We were able to still keep our rear bucket seats
While still having enough articulation on
Our suspension out back

I was going to post something very similar...
LPZ, I commend you on originality, on pushing the envelope, and very much believe that YOU should build whatever YOU want.
Having said that, those rubber band tires are going to ride like s h i t going down PCH or on the way to Santa Barbara. As long as you realize that going in, its all good.
Best of luck!

Hard to tell with the body in Primer but there is definitely a lot of work there.
I had to look a couple times as the images made me think you grafted an early 70's Monte Carlo rear 1/4 panel to bump it out and make room for the wheels.
Still, a definitely looker but not everyones cup of tea...
Will be exciting to see the finished product.
What's the colors gonna be?

I am usually not a fan of extreme wheel sizes and builds like this, but you guys have clearly put the time in to make sure it comes out looking right. Can't wait to see what the finished product is going to look like, especially if you sat it next to a stocker.

Kamikaze
We opened up the wheel well openings
And we used the original panels cut And
Stretched and rewelded of course grafting
More skin as we went on.
A lot of work definitely
The color we chose is a GM red with a few coats
Of candy glaze to deepen it to a bloody red

Wow, how much cutting did you do to get those 24's in there and the 22's up front, how will it affect your turning radius? Or will the air wide take care of all of that? Awesome build though best of luck with it!!!!!

Mini vans com with 17s and 18s. I know 24z and 22z might be big for some... But why not a 20? Compare pictures...A 20 looks better and and you could still run a wide tire. I know some peoples road race there cars, then i understand the small wheels, but if you are not racing your car... Get with the times. Just my opinion. Sorry for thread jacking. More pics please of this sick project.

ah man this was pretty much my future dream build... just doing a frame off with the standard ls1 treatment and that will handle.. really want to build something insane like this... guess i'll have to try to rub some 28's on the back glass! lol... love the car and everything about it!

Because these are CLASSIC cars and some folks like to retain some of that period correct look. I however, dig the PT, modern wheel size look and will be running 18s and 19s on my 65 Chevelle, but I think the 22s and 24s are just too big and make it look cartoonish. Other than that, I wouldn't kick this beotch (car) out of the sack.

Hello all.
My two cents are you can run at least 18" and 19". On a Chevelle, you can get away even larger wheels to look extreme without going donk... But not too big.

bump for updated/finished pics!
I would love to get my car mini-tibbed with widebody flare/stretched panels and avoid a 1in frame notch
i was thinking 19/18 or 19/17 combo with viper width tires. so not as extreme as your wheels in regaurds to diameter!
Looks pretty clean. Do you have pictures of how you made the side exit exhaust? How you routed it etc?
