Hello

I've been lurking for a little while now as I was looking to get into the classic car market. I've always been into the pro-touring style (and function) for classic cars. A 67/68 Camaro has been my dream car since I was probably 16. I've gone through several projects and vehicles since then. Most recently was a C5 corvette (which I love) but am now parting with for my next project:

Picked up a nice 1967 Coupe with some very nice parts. More go than show with it's 1k paint job, but still turns heads nonetheless. Previous owner needed money, and I wanted a muscle car. It was a good match and I think it was a great buy. I've only had the car for about 2 days and I'm still discovering what it has inside.

So far, I know its a ZZ4 swap from about 1999 (runs strong). Unknown heads/cam, 750cfm carb, dual AN fuel lines/fittings, electric fan, taylor wires and a march billet serp belt setup, headman headers, built TH400 3spd (unk stall), 12 bolt rear, 4.11 posi. Newer suspension front and rear w/ ladder bars on drag radials (rides firm, hooks well). I'm still deciphering the folder full of receipts to determine what else is in there. Dare I say, I think it's faster than my C5 from a dead stop. Feels like it anyway.

Here's a pic of my cousin loading it up in the trailer. Pay no mind to the blasphemous details of this act. (We got lots of honks and waves from Ford guys on the way home though, little did they know of the heresy contained within :lmao:)

Next day getting it home:

Mostly stock interior. The seats are out of a 1990 Camaro I believe... not sure about these yet, but I like the headrest and they are comfy.

My garage has never looked so cool.:drive:

Since these pictures I put about 3 hours into buffing and waxing out the imperfections in the paint, made the $1000 maaco paint job look like a $1750 paint job =)... but visibly improved.

Not sure which way I want to go with this yet. Quite sure of a built 700r4 swap... but after that, so many ideas. Lots of knowledge on this board that I look forward to tapping into =)

That said... anyone looking for a C5? The wife wants her parking spot back.:)

Thanks gents. I have thought about it, but the C5 is too nice to use as a parts car. I want to keep the Camaro old school carbed SBC anyway=). Also, I've had this thing for 3 days, I already had two different people tell me about the one they had that was "just like it." The guy at autozone also told me about his "super-rare" 1967 z-28 that couldn't be registered to drive on the street because it was a full race car and didn't have turn signals. I told him to just put turn signals on it... he said he wanted to keep it original. I thought it was a "full race car"? Man, this thing brings out the storytellers... I have a feeling I need to get used to this....
