I think it would be cool to have a contest. My problem is the requirement that the person have fab skills. Nothing wrong with that at all aside from I don't have any skills so therefore I couldn't win, lol.

I LOVE tech weeks on the HAMB! But thats because there is way too much bull to wade through to find any worthwhile threads. Here it's pretty well sorted so you can post b.s. stuff in certain areas, or go to the specific tech discussion areas for real info. So I'm not sure a tech-based contest here would be best.

However, I Baleigh giveway contest would be great no matter what!

I think making it interesting such as requiring a joke or something to win would be best.

We've all had those embarrassing gearhead screw-ups that we look back at with a better sense of humor as time goes by. Things like dropping your fresh engine into the car and then finding the oil pump hidden under a rag.
Perhaps a video chronicling such misadventures while retaining a good dose of humor.

how about the car, I think the one guy who found the custom fit roll cage that had the gaps that you could use sharpies to gauge the gaps,,,,and had lots of cash in,,,,,

As for me, I whittle tube notches with my little mill... it can be hit or miss as I try to get a decent gap for TIG welding. I'd love to win one of your contests. :)

I recently found out that wall thickness requirements mean something when bending tube. I buckled an .065 wall tube badly. My .083 version bent into place perfectly.
